IMHO, PSLE Maths is not going to be easy. If you have not bought the Maths paper, here are some p6 speed questions from 2010 P6 Prelim top papers for your reference and your son's practice:

Q17: Jason left Town A at 1 p.m. travelling at 64 km/h towards Town B. Half an hour later, Ben left Town A, travelling at 80 km/h towards Town B. (a) How far ahead was Jason when Ben left Town A? (b) At what time would Ben be 8 km ahead of Jason? [4 marks][Answer given: 32 km, 4.00 pm]

Q15: A car and a van started travelling from Town X to Town Y at the same time. The distance between the two towns was 225 km. Both vehicles did not change their speed. In order to reach Singapore punctually, the bus increased its speed by 8.5 km/h. At 11.30 am, the two vehicles were 35 km apart after passing each other earlier. If the car reached City B at 1 pm, at what time would the bus arrive at City A?[4 marks][Answer given: 3 pm]

Yes, tell your DD that P5 is very easy compared to P6 Maths. No joke and this is serious. I agree that the PSLE 2008 Maths exam that I took was the easiest PSLE Maths exam in recent history. You can see for yourself that nobody complained in the press for that year and most of the P6 students did very well for PSLE Maths 2008.

Same boat as my P5 younger sister will be taking PSLE 2011 Maths.
Yesterday, she cried after browsing through some of the 4/5 marks questions from the package of 10 top schools for PSLE 2010 P6 Prelim Maths.Lucky that those schools like ACS(P), Catholic High, MGS, SCGS, Pei Hwa, Rulang etc are not included in this package of 10 top schools. Otherwise, she will have many sleepless nights. At last, she realised the fact that P5 Maths was a honeymoon (no offence intended, just personal opinion of hers).P6/PSLE Maths with new topics like speed, area of circle, net, advanced percentage/ratio/fraction is much more difficult than P5 Maths.She even said that the PSLE 2008 Maths exam that I took was the all-time easiest PSLE Maths exam in recent history.

this evening, i have dashed out to buy the 2010 prelim papers for all subjects. They are sold in a bundle so why not? i have decided to get ds to do the 2010 papers instead of 2009.
i noticed that the speed questions are quite similar to those covered in the A*booklets so hopefully DS can do them since we have already gone thru most of the questions in the Speed booklet.
