So we delayed most of the required shots till our boy was much older. The pd I went to is a family friend. His clinic does it for all his little patients in a similar situation. I believe the GP or polyclinic staff will do the same.<br /><br /><br />No need to rush at registration phase as long as things are in order by the time your child starts P1. I went to the polyclinic and the nurse updated the NIR for me. This was 15 yrs ago, but I expect they should still do it for you, and could be even more efficient now? Anyway, for purposes of P1 registration, I think the overseas records should be sufficient. You can add a note to say that you have sent your records to the NIR but they are still processing it. You can add a copy of the email from NIR.<br /><br />My kids never went to a PD either. The only time they did was at P5 when the polyclinic wouldn't give them their compulsory jabs (because it's only done through the schools, apparently) and they weren't in Singapore school. When everything is updated and in order, the clinic printed a swee swee copy for me n ask me to go n collect.<br /><br />The school that u enrol your child in will eventually need the proper records. It's not the school's job to try and decipher foreign/overseas documents. Was told by my GP (and also NIR staff) that I could email NIR with the overseas immunisation records (which frankly speaking, to me… looks quite …informal… apart from the stickers showing the batch number and expiry that they actually peel off from the bottle of vaccine they used! the name is haphazardly handwritten by the parent/doctor/nurse etc). <br /><br />The idea is that NIR will then update our Sg database with it so that I can download and print off a "swee swee" local style copy for P1 registration exercise this July.<br /><br />It’s been a whole week since I emailed them and NIR hasn’t replied me to say updated or not. I emailed MOE and here’s a quote frm the email<br /><br />"We would like to share that you can still register your daughter during the Primary One (P1) Registration Exercise, even if she has not completed the required immunisations."<br /><br />So ah… my question is - if die die cannot get NIR to update in time, I can still rest easy right? pri school not gonna turn me away just cuz I don’t have the "correct" local style immunisation records right? technically speaking they can simply accept my overseas records? I’m pretty sure she has all the required immunisations done.</p>
