<![CDATA[How do you eat soft boil eggs?]]>I've often wondered how do people eat their soft boil eggs? Was sitting at Toast Box today and enjoying my teh and kaya toast, supposedly minding my own business.


And that's when I noticed some ladies sitting opposite me, gently scooping their eggs with a spoon to feed oneself. Very dainty and ladylike.

But eh... dainty and ladylike I am not :oops: so I eat mine the way my Ah Kong taught me more than 30 years ago, slurp from the plate - gently. No loud slurping noise, please, because I am a girl, but bringing the plate to one's mouth and gently spoon the eggs, so that one slurps as it slides into one's mouth.

So, how do you eat your eggs? :?

They like their eggs soaked in freshly boiled water for 5 mins. Once done, dunk the eggs into room temperature water for a couple of minutes and they’re good to go! My son eats them straight with a dash of pepper while my daughter likes her’s on toast.


Hubby and I prefer oatmeal with dried fruits for breakfast.

This is what I do every morning:
- take egg out of fridge and put into pot filled with tap water covering at least 3/4 of the egg
- Use medium flame to heat up
- when water starts boiling, turn off flame and wait 2 more minutes
- take egg out
- you should have a nice soft boiled egg

I always eat with pepper and Maggie seasoning sauce 🙂

The kids loved to crack the eggs on their own. I prefer to use light sauce & a garlic toast for dipping + milo - yum!

After 1yo, I think. Especially the yolks. Otherwise may have allergy problem.

for me, soft boiled eggs is perfect when the egg white has turned completely white.

Watery egg white would be half boiled egg, not exactly soft boiled.

I had the perfect soft boiled egg last June at the breakfast provided by a hotel. But on the next morning, the soft boiled egg was not as good as the day before.

Eldest ds: He ate without soy sauce and pepper. He will scoop out the white first and gently left the yolk. Then he will bring up the saucer and gulp it. It was very interesting to watch how he ate it.
2nd ds: He will stir everything and mix it with lots of soy sauce and pepper.
