Guess I may be wrong.

In my opinion, Time/Newsweek is very pro-American in what they talk about e.g. college, football, baseball… Sometimes our teenagers may not even know what these are…

I remember struggling hard to understand what Time is trying to say in their articles when I’m in JC. And I have to swallow the articles by hook or by crook because of General Paper requirements.

I think Reader’s Digest is more suitable for teens.

Right now, I think the Economist is most balanced in terms of international outlook, and has a good mixture of science/technology articles along with political analysis…

But the Economist won’t attract teenagers much, except for the very scholarly breed. How many Singapore teenagers care about America’s healthcare reforms, or how South Korea play the tough card with North Korea, but still give aid…

Depends on the standard of language skills of your kids...Mine will surely die if I make her read Times/newsweek.. I put my current and old copies of RD in the throne room for everyone to pick up when err..bored..

they normally send the subscription forms to the schools

normally schools have book fair or something similar, and inevitably there will be RD subscription forms

also, you can try calling +65-6258 1111, http://www.rdasia.com (not sure got student subscription via online or not)

Kids, I mention above, usually read the more interesting article like Science and Technology. So the magazine is more in-depth which might be more suitable to build up their English and General Knowledge.

Language is good.

But bottom line is you should enjoy reading it, otherwise it is a chore...
I like it too.
Been an avid reader since my school days.
Fits nicely into lady's handbag as well.
