25 is nice...but that would mean marrying at 24 which I think is young.

My boys enjoy each others' company very much. They fight, of course, but all so often, they'd do sweet little things for each other, like saving treats (tibits, soft drinks etc) for the other to enjoy, or tidying the bro's room etc etc. That's probably my best mother's day pressie.

oh they sure fight...but they are able to bond pretty well at times.

agree too but nowadays young people prefer to wait very long.

with a kid, there is no telling how much money you need. if couple feels they are ready to get married, I suppose they are ready to start a family...esp since couples are getting married in their late 20s and early 30s.

women don't know how their biological clock is...which is why I had my first one at 28 right after getting married...not really that young actually.
at 40, my son was 12. starting a family young is advantageous because parents have the energy to cope with different stages.
also starting family later means adjustment to having a child is harder after years of being a couple.

mine is clearly sec in 2 yrs time.. agree... once they go sec, quite relaxed as i expect them to solve their own problems. just need to guide and coach once a while...

but then... the agony comes... i am thinking i will start to miss their baby times, their primary school coaching in studies, etc etc... 😢 i must say i am enjoying this year and next year before i become too free
Get a hobby, get a job (if you're a SAHM) or do volunteer stuff? I was waiting for my kids to get to sec age and for us to return to Singapore. Not that I disliked my SAHM years or want to totally wash my hands off my kids (I haven't!), but I feel it's high time to move on. I married at 23 but had my kids at 32 and 35. I've never been the type who enjoys babies and small kids, so I don't miss that stage at all. I'm now 50 and starting a new phase of life!

I had my 1st at 27 after 2 yrs of marriage. I had my last baby at 41 - that one, super-duper exhausting.

I'm 47 now and my eldest will be 20. Only have to wait until now to enjoy, meh? hehe. Still have to support in university leh. But if you talk about \"enjoying\" I think once they go into secondary school - quite much relaxed already... their own problems - leave them to solve it themselves.

So when I had #2, gender did not matter to me at all. During the detailed scan at 5 months, the sonographer did a very detailed scanning and even called in her supervisor for confirmation. Even though scan was perfect, I still worried another 4 months until her birth.

I think the relationship between a parent and her kid depends on many factors and the effort the parent puts in in raising her child. A ‘closer’ generation gap does not mean anything, in my humble opinion.

1st pregnancy when my wife was 30 ended in a miscarriage 😞

My 1stDD was born when my wife was 32

DS when my wife was 34; and

2nd DD @ 39 ...about 2 months ago!

I suppose that pregnancies for older women are bound to have some difficulties.

My wife was warded from week 31-35 for some bleeding. There went my tax rebate for next year 😢

Thankfully, 2DD came at 37.5 wks (normal pregnancy) and considering what the DW went through, healthy. Praise the lord.

Many friends ask if thats it. I always say that because we are catholics, no contraception. And with NFP, anything can happen!! 😉

I guess thats why I signed up for the marathon at the end of the year! 😛

He came unexpectedly when I was 35. I guess the god wants to give him to us. I had a very very bad pregnancy, all the discomfort happened on me. Luckily he born healthly. Umm... no lah. I did not have kids when I was young. In fact, I was still partying away when you had your first kid. I had my 1st on only when I was 31 and 2nd one at 33. Hoping for a 3rd one at 35 then close shop but until now still no sight of #3.
