I am not looking for home tutor, looking for good tuition center.

2a) Anyone had attended Jurong Point Morris Allen Study Center Pri 6 PSLE short course, is it good ?

2b) Are teacher Kim Pink n William Verrall good ?

2c) Between 2009 to 2011, I called Jurong Point Morris Allen a few times when my daughter was in Pri 1 and Pri 3, there were always no vacancy. Now for I called Jurong Point and Tampines branches, there are vacancy in 5 out of 7 classes in each branch for the normal English course.
And the Eng PSLE course has just started for students to enroll and if there is only 1 or 2 students, the staff says the class will commence.
Is it that they are not so good in upper primary or good teachers have left Jurong Point branch ?
My colleague tells me that parents usually enroll their kids in Morris Allen when they are in lower primary to learn how to speak proper English when very young and parents will switch to enroll them in Just Education, Mindstretcher, Newton Apple, etc when they are in upper primary as they are more structure and exam focus, is that true ?

DS2 attended a short Writing course (10 weeks) at MA AMK, and he seemed to enjoy himself very much.. He said the teachers were nice & encouraging, and most importantly (to him), there was no homework.. :slapshead:

Was thinking of registering DS2 for the P6 English course at MA, but I am having second thots now.. :skeptical:

She is happy there and feel the teacher there is good and encouraging. Oh ya... the teaching environment is relaxing too. They provide biscuit and occassionly potatoes chip in class for them to munch.

At the moment, CA1 didn't see any improvement in term of result.

Will monitor till SA1. πŸ™‚

What I think of Moris Allen. Mmmm..... frankly I don't find it excellent. πŸ˜›

I personally feel that the kids must be discipline enough while attending Moris Allen class as the teaching method is more \"ANG MO\" type hence the teacher are very \"lenient\". πŸ˜› Like can eat and drink during lesson (they even provide chip and biscuit). πŸ˜›

My son (P4) didn't did well after attending Moris Allen. Worst, he failed his composition (9/20) for the very 1st time which give me a SHOCK!!!! In the end, I took him out and put him to Just educations (after SA1) which teaching is more structure like in school. (Ok, my son is not very discipline type, he love to DAY DREAM hence he need those FIERCE teacher. :oops: :oops: ) Lucky enough, he is able to get 13/20 for his SA2.

While my daughter didn't really see much improvement in her school exam result but she get a MERIT for her UNSW test which previously she get only a pass in P5. πŸ˜› And she also get Merit for her UNSW composition writing too. To me, this consider an improvement. :rahrah:

My daughter do enjoy VERY much in Moris Allen hence I didn't take her out.

I think I feel uncomfortable is the story book that Moris Allen loaned to the student is way too SIMPLE. πŸ˜› Those story book that my girl is able to borrow back, is like for P3/p4 student reading standard. When my girl tell the teacher that the story book is too simple, she want to borrow others, the teacher said cannot, those book are for SECONDARY student. mmmmm.....

The only good thing about my girl class is, her class size is really small, only 4 students. πŸ˜›

So I also can't really comment whether Moris Allen is really good or not. Because the outcome result from my 2 kids are different. πŸ˜› :slapshead:
