Like if you see a stranger with special needs (birth defects etc) we most probably won't be able to accept that person as part of the society, imagine if that person is your child....
Many special needs children's parents live in denial for very long( they know there is smth wrong with their kid but refuse to admit it) until they can't take it.
And i think all special needs parents are really brave.Especially those who detect smth wrong and seek help and get it treated.

However the other kind is quite irritating. When the kid misbehaves and you feedback to them and they go like \"no la, the kid is still small don't understand... he's actually a very good boy\" And in the parent's eye their children are forever \"small\" therefore, when when when? will it be time that the kid grows up and learns?- Quoting from my own experience with a relative who is really protective of her son.

littlehelper

Reply to Defamation on Thu, 25 Nov 2010 09:36:35 GMT

jkids:
mrswongtuition:

a few things to check with you:
1. did the sch give you the report automatically or you insist to have a report fr them?
2. did they admit it was their mistake? and did they apologize?
3. did the sch or boy pay for the medical report?

They called me on my mobile to inform me about what happened immediately. I told the principal that I was busy (was having lessons) and that my dad will pick my boy up from school. I simply asked her to get the teachers who were present to give me a written report which they did the following day.

The school admitted that they could have been more careful with the boy (but they had no idea he would bite my boy during play time). After that incident, they separated that boy from the class (he also bit other children). The teacher holds his hand the entire day to ensure that he will not run off on a biting spree. Apparently, he also bites the teachers & the nice auntie who cooks & cleans for them!

The P and teachers did apologise many times, to me and my family. We know it's not their fault. Who would expect a 18 month old boy to go on a biting rampage?

It's the kid's parents' fault. They allowed him to bite everyone, even at home. And when we told the parents about what happened, they simply smiled and walk away! They did not even apologise to us.

And the school can't do much except to tell the boy not to do it. No physical punishment allowed at school. (When my boy started to bite us, we stopped the behaviour immediately. That's why I don't understand how parents can allow their kids to continue biting everyone!)

The medical expenses was claimed under school insurance as it happened in school.

mrswongtuition

Reply to Defamation on Thu, 25 Nov 2010 07:31:49 GMT

mrswongtuition:

a few things to check with you:
1. did the sch give you the report automatically or you insist to have a report fr them?
2. did they admit it was their mistake? and did they apologize?
3. did the sch or boy pay for the medical report?
