Thot the mainstreamers should also band together to share info about DSA. Understand there is a different submission and possibly even different test / interviews for mainstreamers going thru’ the DSA route.

Would appreciate any parents who have gone thru’ this to share your experience, esp. on specific sec schools so that we can learn from you. Also please share the domain of application (via CCA, Sports, Academic, etc.) what are the differences.

I know there is a DSA thread, but going thru’ >200 pages is tedious, with mostly relating to GEP. I’m sure majority kids who are not in GEP would also want to know what are their chances and how to go about DSA route. Appreciate any sharing here.

But in case that one time is not satisfactory result, it will affect the DSA application for all the schools. Any second opportunity to retake???

Actually for the year 2010 DSA, the GAT by HCI and RI are from different sources, based on instructions from the schools, and so the kids had to do it once for each school because these are no longer outsourced to CSI. The tests are not similar; HCI is easier, based on feedback by a few kids who are my DS' friends. And some other schools' tests are called by other names like HAST etc....over and above the subject written test like math, language etc[/quote]Yeah, i just went to look at the RI website. Looks like they've changed the system for last year compared to 2009.

phankao
