Readiness for me means the following:

New schoolbag? Checked Yes
New shoes? Checked Yes
New socks? Checked Yes
New water bottle? Checked Yes
New stationeries? Checked Yes
New labelling? Checked Yes
New books? Checked Yes for textbooks only
New notebook? Checked Yes
Packed bag? Checked Yes
Alarm ready? Checked Yes
Lunchbox ready? Not quite
Uniforms ironed? Checked Yes (no new uniforms yet, usually buy after peak periods)
Brain ready? Checked Yes (over played during the holidays, got tuned back the last 2 days)

Did I miss anything? How about you? πŸ˜‰

I think teachers are going to start 1st gear from tomorrow...2nd to 3rd gear after CNY. Wonder if my daughter is ready. πŸ™
From what I gather, 'sufficient' ice is broken by now since she is chatting with her classmates and even managed to talk to another girl from diff class who attended same kindy as her.

She told us yesterday about it and we were like, 'Huh ? :!: you were chatting with a girl from another class ?' Apparently, her recess period for the 1st week was not in the canteen but outside her class. How could she possibly be able to chat ?

Last year when DS was P1 we were allowed to accompany the kids during recess for the first two days.. πŸ˜›

Bought daughter’s school badge when her house team was known only today.


Security guard scolded me for stepping into school compound…when I tried explaining to him I went in to buy another spare school badge. Don’t understand :x how come he didn’t know parents are allowed into premise today.

Oh definitely. When it rains, the queue at RGPS comes to a standstill. Cars on Dunearn Road won't let cars exiting from RGPS out, which means cars on Hillcrest trying to get into the school can't get in. Silly, but drivers don't realize their actions impact themselves.

Not only are parents at the mercy of bus drivers, but also tutors.
Cracking head for breakfast is a VERY big headache. Sian to think of it...esp since have to prepare for kids' recess.
