If you are changing a new set of tyres on existing cars here in singapore, you should not be getting tyres that are more than 16 weeks old from now 0711.....tyres are fast moving items, from factory to tyre shop. if it stay too long, it is not new. i prefer tyre shop that will promise me the newest

Many many years back when I was so green, I was driving with a long nail stuck at the tyre and only realised it's existence I think after many months when DH discovered the nail had gone all rusty! I'm surprised the tyre wasn't deflated. Fantastic tyres I must say!

Yes, you can save a fair bit of money by changing in JB.

Personal opinion: I don't think you can relate cheap and good together.

usually such tyre shops will give tyres from China or second hand tyres but sell as new. Nowadays tyres do not come in paper wrap like the good old days.
To me, honesty and service are impt factors. Price differentiation btw shops are unlikely to be too significant.

some pple dun mind to try from East to West just for few dollars difference.

I agree. Many years back, I went to a tyre shop to change my tyres. Change my rim as well. Yes I was given a good price. Unfortunately, I was pretty inexperience when it comes to driving a car then. I didn't realise I was given a second hand tyres until my car started to skid. I got into a car accident whereby my car lost grip and started spinning at a bend on a flyover. It was a blind spot for those cars behind me. As my car started to spin, I tot that was the end of my life because I can see those cars behind me approaching me at high speed. Luckily all the cars managed to brake in time one by one.

From then on, I only choose reliable shop to change my tyres. I don't mind paying a bit more for peace of mind. So please check carefully when u change your car tyres. Many of us take it for granted that changing tyres is something simple. It can make a difference between life and death.
