<![CDATA[Childfirst Preschool]]>Hi does anyone have any feedback on Childfirst? It’s very new, I think they just opened this January. They are a local company but started a few centres in China and just opened their first one here.


My brother was telling me about it and showed me some brochures that were dropped at his house.

The programme looks quite good. Strong bilingual curriculum, modern with IT facilities, and what I like is their hands on activities. Apparently the kids can even plant vegetables in the garden. Sounds good but I don’t know if it’s just good marketing!

I intend to visit the centre but would prefer to get some feedback from other parents. Always a bit apprehensive about new things that are not really tried and tested!

My 3yo has been in Childfirst Tampines for 2 years now and I highly reccommend this school.

I seriously considered to switch due to exorbitant sch fees (1.9k after working mum subsidy in 2024) but after looking at 4 schools in the vicinity, I decided to keep my child in Childfirst!

Reasons:
-spacious and cleanest environment u can find here. I never knew having a classroom for every class is actually considered a luxury.
-principal is always around and sincerely cares for every child. She knows my child by name and Ive witnessed her being hands on everytime.
-there's a teaching assistant attached to every teacher (for nursery classes) so i know my child is well taken care of in terms of hygiene eating drinking etc on top of learning
-needless to say abt their trilingual ciriculum, u can read more on their website

The principal at KAP is quite friendly, teachers are ok too. No high turnover. Generally, it has a positive vibe for the staff, including the cleaning auntie. Only problem now is that they are moving the location (forced upon them by the landlord) and their new location is a little obscure.

I think teacher play important role at preschool. curriculum / learning is second priority.

The teacher especially PRC always complained about my kid every single little thing to me everyday.
I feel not safe to send my kid to that school anymore. I plan to transfer to other school

What I like:
- Big class room with plenty of natural sunlight
- Big gathering hall where kids can play
- Teachers are kind

What I dont like:
- School fees kept increasing every year. 2023 increased 10%, after 2022 increased 5% - claimed by the management due to the development of new learning app (I am not a fan of using too many tech app in teaching at this early stage)
- Teachers attrition is quite high - for my DD class, every there was a change of main teacher.

I understand it will be disruptive (she has been through a lot of changes in her current school) and hence would like to research more on the school before making the switch.

Going to a new childcare in K2? So your kid will stay there only for a year?
In general, it's probably better if your child can be in the same childcare for at least 2 years, otherwise the changes can be very confusing and disruptive for the kid.
