Must learn how to SAVE$$$$ :idea:

We always have a choice of taking mrt. Sometimes if the place we want to go is very difficult to get parking lot we do that too.

I try to go out only when we have to...otherwise impulse buying sometimes. But grocery and Popular no choice.

Yes, Amex plus the SPC card gives a total of 16%. But you can pump only from Fri-Sun.

For new card member ,u are only able to get on the next month. tats why i no apply SPC card. Discount voucher normally need to pump $50 then u can use the voucher. these days, spc&u card auto 10% discount (can't remember exact numbers) - prior month not taken into account.

Currently ESSO still give the best discount with DBS ESSO Master card + Smile card. ( 13% + 5% = 18%) and discount is deduct on the spot. I pump SPC but don't usually notice discount.

There is a teire discount for the SPC card plus rebate for using POSB Every day card - 3% was it?

Personally, I don't really find that much difference with different brands of fuel or even between grades (talking about 95, 98, V-Power etc).

Even if there is, we Singaporeans generally don't keep our cars long enough to really see the effects...

Mine is a booklet for the entire year (in fact 13 months) starting from Dec 2010 to Dec 2011. We got it because one of the Shell branches was closing down and they are encouraging us to maintain loyalty with them instead of using other brands, so they gave us the booklet, but I think only limited to 2000 booklets... but I managed to get 2 booklets. 😉 😉


Okie, now I'm determined to switch brand 😛

We have the booklet that runs till end Jan. Then found out there's another new booklet from Feb but petrol lady refused to give us unless we exchanged it with our old booklet (already throw away during spring cleaning :stupid: )

I maintain a current account with Standchart Xtrasaver. If you keep daily balance above 6K, entitled to 7% off cash rebates on your purchases (any petrol station also can); plus the station discounts, works out pretty nice. IF you can keep daily balance above 20K, etc etc, the petrol discounts are higher.


Also, cash rebates of 1% for credit card expenses and 0.5% off your nets purchases (i use this to pay for my credit cards at axs machines).
I purposely don't pump petrol with that card. You get higher rebate for all other purchases if don't charge any petrol to xtra
