Size would be A4. Can consider laser printer? Heard it is also cheap & good? The catridge is also very cheap? Target price maybe $50 & below!Possible? :celebrate:

from memory, i think 1 cartridge lasts an avg of 100sheets? is that long? or more? i'm not talking about a full page of black.. just pri sch kinda work to print so it shouldn't even be so few pages right?[/quote]

Find ink now? Good luck. Not many options. If you can afford to wait a week, online sellers. Otherwise, Fairprice Xtra or Giant hypermart.

I have Epson ink tank for A4 printing for the last few years and Brother ink tank for A3 printing starting this year. The difference in spending on ink is really 天渊之别。

My Epson L4160 Ink Tank broke down in the initial weeks of CB period and I sent it for servicing since it's still under warranty. However, I desperately needed a printer and was deliberating whether to get a new one (esp. since I have spare bottles of ink) or a cheap option as stop gap.

Eventually, I bought Canon PIXMA MG2570S, which was less than $80. I did check the prices of it's black and color ink cartridges before that (which I thought was reasonable). What shocked me was how fast the ink runs out. 2 ink cartridges in a week vs. 1 bottle in ~6 months (despite my high volume of printing). :yikes: Now that there's still no concrete ETA for my Epson L4160 to be repaired and sent back (waiting for printer part), I'm really regretting my decision. 😢

Ink Tank is really worth the initial cost imo.

Depends on what your objective is. I have/had HP, Canon, Epson and Brother. My HP and Canon were inkjet. My Epson and Brother are ink tank. Inkjet's quality is much better than ink tank but the cost is high. Suitable if you or your children need to have high quality printing but of course the quality is not as good as those colour print outs from big photocopier machine.

Ink tank's ink is EXTREMELY affordable. Good if you or your child needs to print a lot. You can print like nobody's business.

When we moved from inkjet to ink tank, DS complained that his report print out quality is not as good as before. So I told him to print in school if need high quality printing. Problem is solved.

We bought one in 2017. We are impressed with the first few months of using our Brother printer then all of a sudden it quit working. When we brought the machine to the service center, the repair is costly and we were suggested to buy a new one instead.

Laser printers are fast and value for money. One thing is that they should be kept in well-ventilated rooms (ideally not the bedroom), the laser toner dust is regarded as carcinogenic by some scientists.

I just read your post. Wow! I didn't know that laser printers are carcinogenic similar to asbestos. Thank you for sharing the information. I will never buy laser printer then. However good the printing quality is, it is not worth the health risk.

Anyway, we are still very happy with our ink tank printer that we bought a few years ago. It is extremely cheap to print.
