Synovial fluid is released into the joints within 90 seconds, resulting in lubrication that enhances movement. Also, the stiff muscles resulting from stiff joints are relaxed and loosened up to move more freely. As the circulation pumps oxygenation into the damaged joints, healing can take place. That is why there are several ways in which whole body vibration increases flexibility, range of motion and decreases joint pain. Osteoarthritis is one of the conditions that can greatly benefit.

http://www.hypergravity.net/

Doncia17

Reply to anyone using Whole Body Vibration (WBV) exercise machine? on Fri, 22 Apr 2011 10:39:14 GMT

sleepy:

e3nity:
My next machine would probably be a treadmil.. perhaps you wana consider that?? Once you get to your mid 30s, it is best to avoid jumping in your exercises. Jogging, jumping all induces great amount of stress on your knee caps. As you get into your 40s, there is natural cartilage detioration. If you do a lot of jogging and skipping, this will speed up the natural cartilage detioration process and you’ll get knee joint pains.

Cycling on a stationary bike is good. It is convenient and all gyms has it. Spend about 30mins on it with zero resistance. After a week or two, increase the resistance. When you’re used to the exertion of the cycling exercise, increase the cycling speed and monitor your heart rate. Cycle for as fast as you can and check your heart rate. Note down this heart rate and use it as a target reference. On subsequent exercise, try to hit that heart rate for at least a minute, then slow down for a minute to catch your breath, and then speed up again to hit that target heart rate. Do this for 10 times. You can start off with 4 times initially and gradually increase to 10 and beyond.

Your heart has to be pushed to hit as high as you can go, to achieve fat burning. A slow cycling isn’t going to be much help. Most gym stationary exercise bicycle should have a heart monitoring device. It is normally situated in the handle bars of the bike.

As with everything, you will need a feedback mechanism to monitor that you’re indeed making progress with your exercise program.

a) I would suggests going for a blood test to check your cholesterol levels, HDL and LDL and blood pressure.
b) check your resting pulse rate, ie. when you first get up from bed in the morning.
c) make a measurement of your waist and record the measurements.

after 6 months, you can go for another blood test. You should see a lowering of your cholesterol level.
The resting pulse rate and waist measurement you can monitor on a weekly basis.

You know that you’ve made progress if you find that your resting heart rate decreases. Try to shoot for the 50s range, ie. 50+ heart beat per minute.

As you get used to the exercise work load, you’ll find that you need to cycle faster and put in more resistance to achieve your target heart rate that you’ve recorded earlier. This is normal. Try to increase your max heart rate on a monthly basis.

The slow walks is not going to increase your body metabolism much for you.

Once you get into the rythm of this max heart rate exercise, you body will be burning fat even when you’re sitting and sleeping. Drink lots of water to help this process along. With non exhaustive exercises (like slow walks), whatever little fat burning there is stops as soon as you stop exercising.

In addition to increasing your metabolic rate with this exercise, you work out your quads and hamstring muscles as well.

The objective here is not to pedal for a long time, but to exercise intensely for a short period of time. Note that there is some knee cap stress with cycling, however, as you’re not doing a lot of cycling here, it should be fine.
If you have bad knees, swimming is another alternative.

Flabby stomach means there's a layer of fat around the area. To cut down on the fat, you need intense exercise that reaches 80% of your maximum heart rate.
