Recently tried the Penang food at Gurney Drive (AMK Jubilee), very good! Especially the chendol, superb on a hot day! Anyone who loves Penang food can check this out. But go early, can get crowded, especially lunch time and weekends 🙂

Yummy.....they also have a branch in Suntec City.

There's a place at Novena Ville, Penang Road Cafe. They have good Penang food. I love their Penang laska. I bought my M'sian fren there to test and she also gives it thumbs up.


But the dessert, it's normal, I still miss the Malacca chendol :drool:

For drinks, try the 3 layered tea.

They are closed on Mon. Their lunch time, I can't remember is it 11.30am or 12pm to 2.30pm and for dinner I think it's either 5.30 or 6pm to 930pm or later.
I tried the hae mee. That was good. Didn't try the laksa though. The fried kway teow without chilli was good but the one with chilli wasn't great.

They have quite a good selection and the food is good.
But frankly speaking, i can't find really authentic penang food in singapore.
Somehow the food here is not as \"simple\" as the one in Penang.

I asked if they sell the chili but was told they are so busy, they don’t have time to make extra chili for sale.

The penang laksa was horrible. The chef added minced sardine fish to the gravy. The result is a strong fishy smell and there were bits of sardine all over. Totally disgusting to taste and look. The gravy is murky and not sour at all. Felt like puking after trying some. :sick:

Very different!!

Penang Hokkien Mee is equivalent to our hae mee or prawn mee. If you eat a good bowl of real Penang Hokkien Mee, can really tell a difference.

Their broth is a rich stock of prawns. :drool: And then, you top it off with either chendol or teh-ping.... wah lagi best!! :drool::drool:

So Penang Hokkien Mee is like our Prawn Mee Soup?
