It's a relatively new sport in Singapore (even though it has about 100 years of history~) It's a 5-in-1 sport consists of Swimming, Fencing, Running and Shooting, and horse-riding. Suppose to develop an \"all-rounded\" individual. Horse-riding is currently still unavailable in Singapore though. <br /><br /><br />Participants from this sport usually comes from a swimming and running background, and subsequently fencing and shooting. Currently, PA is offering fencing and shooting+running courses at some of their CCs at quite affordable rates. Any who has a copy of PA's Modern Living July-Sept issue pamphlet can refer to it. <br /><br />And those who does not want to do the full 4-5 sports, there are actually competitions year round for Biathlon (Swim/Run), Triathlon (Swim/Run/Shoot) in the modern pentathlon format (points system). <br /><br />There are a few 11-12 year old kids who are currently doing some serious training for the sport at a modern pentathlon sports club.
