This is what I have done so far:


1. Placed 3G simcard into dongle (Huawei E220). This dongle works as I can connect to the 3G simcard using my laptop and netbook.

2. Connect the dongle (via an adaptor given with the tablet as the tablet doesnt have usb port) to the tablet.

3. Tapped on "3G settings". Checked under "3G dongle support list" and confirmed that ""WCDMA HUAWEI E220" is supported.

4. Clicked on "Add 3G network". Window requesting for "Name", "Device number", "APN", "User" and "Password" popped up.

Called singtel helpdesk and he suggested the following which didnt work:
Name, User and Password - leave blank
Device Number - key in *99#
APN - internet

I have tried searching the internet and from what I have read, the problem seems to lie with "Device Number". I have tried using IMEi and S/N printed on back of the dongle but it didnt work.

Any suggestions? TIA

go for either Samsung Galaxy S2 or HTC Sensation....

there is always a learning curve when u migrate from old to new phone..... especially when u are talking about from non smartphone to a smartphone.....

anyway u will get used to it after 1-2weeks.... have fun !!!!

Boiling water? Boy that's bad advice, cimman. What if people actually do that and spoil their phone?

Folks, don't listen to him. You need to boil your phones in alcohol at 100 degrees celsius, not water. Remember, 100 degrees hor, otherwise not effective. No alcohol can use Yomeishu. It can extend battery power.

If you're just playing with your phone at home, just plug the USB cable into your phone and \"play\" with it. That way, you're charging the battery at the same time and there will be no battery drainage, no matter how long you play with it. Unplug it only when you bring your smartphone out of your house.

I juz bought a Galaxy S2. Will read through all posts for more tips.

On a more serious note, using my phone, I accessed Samsung Apps and there was a message to say that there is new updates. I clicked and allowed the new updates to be downloaded and installed to my phone. Is this the update you are talking about?

Paiseh if the above question is silly - it shows how \"well versed\" I am with my android phone and I have it for a few months already...

The safest is to go to Samsung Service Centre if you have earlier batch of the phone, but you have to backup your data (contacts, sms, emails, etc) as it will be lost after upgrade.

You can also do it and home, by install a download Samsung software call http://www.samsungapps.com/about/onPc.as, for most of the later batch of the phone and you can choose to keep your data. Just follow the instruction. I have done it twice, once from 2.1 to 2.2 and from 2.2 to 2.3.3.

As for whether you can upgrade at home depends on the phone version, you can check with Samsung over phone.
