My opinion is that the fault lies with the overly protective, overly sheltered lifestyle given by the self-first parents. Like one forumer said, he saw a granny carry a school bag for a Primary student - that itself is all wrong in the filial context. Imagine a P5 or P6 boy expecting, thinking that it is norm, for his elder ( senior - higher rank ? ) grandmother to carry his bag for him from school. Isn't it suppose to be a 12yr old boy carrying the market groceries for HIS grandmother instead ??

I wonder what the young will become 10 to 20 years down the road. It is indeed a sad reflection of what society has become.

If every month her \"grandaunt\" visits & she stains, she throws her soiled undie into the washing machine , together with all other clothes to wash? Will it be clean? If not , then how? Throw it to maid & get maid to wash away her stains? Even if grandaunt doesn't visit, there is always dischxxge which i feel it is only proper & hygienic to wash it off yourself separately... to me, i find it \"shameful\" to task my maid or someone else to wash my undie especially if i had stained it ... afterall a piece of undie (no matter how fat one is) is just a small piece of cloth/material - it really doesn't take much time & effort to wash - but it goes a long way in \"preserving one's self-respect & dignity\" (my personal opinion of course).
Oh different house, different rules then :lol: . For us, we just dump everything into the washing machine, turn the knob and forget about the whole thing. :oops:

I totally agree with the majority of posts here; which is we should not pamper our kids too much. It makes them weak. However, I've a query here regarding something that I came across a few times in this thread; something that is quite unrelated to this topic actually.

When i explained that to my boyfriend (now husband) years ago, he understood my point & started washing his undies separately too (which i believe should be the way) unless one has compelling reasons not to do so...

I didnโ€™t go much with helper alone with kids when they were babies/toddler then. My kids are 4 years apartโ€ฆwe went out on Sundays then. Hubby would attend to older son while younger one is in pram.
Hubby will take over pram before going down/up escalator as maid couldnโ€™t handle.

Told hubby maybe we should get a maid when son goes to NSโ€ฆNOT to carry his backpack while he sends SMS but to wash his uniforms and polish his boots in the confines of the bathroom. HaHaHa.

When my kids were babies then, I got a nice backpack (padded one) for the maid to carry it. Those baby bags are not friendly nor easy to carry.
At that time, I just had to carry MY own handbag...hubby will carry the kids and maid carry the backpack. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thats what DH did as well. He specifically got himself a nice Deuter haversack and would carry that with the baby items whenever we went out. Only drawback is that whenever he carried the baby, I would end up carrying the masculine looking bag :lol: :lol:

When my helper and I go out with DH, either one of us (if I am not carrying a handbag) wii carry the haversack lah, if DH is carrying DS ....

Only when I go out alone with DS or with helper, would I then put the stuff in a tote bag.

For helper, it makes no difference cuz she is either in jeans or pants. But imagine carrying the haversack when I am in a dress/skirt with heels *shudder* :shock: So I would just carry it by the handle, rather than placing it over my shoulders.

Aiyah, small price to pay for maintaining DH's dignity :lol: :lol:
