In-law problems?

I'm thinking of holding it outside with my parents/siblings/friends but don't have any idea on the venue yet. Don't want to over spend too
Hold one at home for your parents/siblings/friends. Another one at his parents' place. Buy a cake there. -

i did a budget one at my own place when my daughter turns 2.. did not cross my mind to invite my IL and my DH nv mention so only my family, nanny's family as well as a few of my close friends turn up..
i ordered cupcakes and sakae sushi and all have a great time..
when DD turn 1, nobody ask, nobody remembered so we only celebrated with a ice cream cake from Ben & Jerry's and had a blow candle cut cake ceremony @ Ben & Jerry's in GWC with DD's godpa.. -

 then just call her mother lah
Ya duriz, I have told my DH my concerns but DH scared that his family will find out that we didn't celebrate with them. Well....I think the only person that cares is his mother. His father and sisters never show care, love and concern on my DD.Mrs Ang:

My fellow Octomum with similar problems, I totally empathize
[/quote]Mrs Ang,
Yah, I think you just invite lah. At least when your DD looks back, she will still see the fotos that these people are there because her mum is still bothers to invite them for a 'complete' pic. At the very least, your MIL still cares for her mah...
Another way of viewing at things - at least your PIL are the people who gave you your DH... so invite them lah. If they chose not to come, at least you ้ฎๅฟๆ ๆง๏ผ -

For my DH family, I believe mil will juz give a $20 red packet if she remember. Mil has only brought one gold necklace on DD full mth birthday. The necklace is from a pawn shop which I'm not sure is it new or old.

Yes, my mil care for DD in a certain percentage only. DD is her first and only grandchild till now but she view herself more impt. Unlike other mils that I heard who will take care of their grandchildren no matter what. My mil just throw the ball back to me at the very last min and still trying to continue this game.

Iโm staying with my PIL in my FILโs house - at his request and numerous pleadings with me, even though there are so many clashes and unhappiness.
For #1โs first month, we did it at home. We had a lot of problems after that, even though the people we invited are MILโs relatives! how absurd can this be? We had another one at my mumโs place for my own relatives and our friendsโฆ
From then on, we actually hold the other two first months outside, not at the house anymore. -
