Me: The last time I was kiasu as a parent was yesterday when I checked my 2yo daughter into Shichida hoping she can become a genius before it empties my bank account.

Everyone: ooorrhhh.

Me: …but wait…wait… I promise not to send her to Kumon or make her do work sheets before she is 5 yo.

Everyone: nooooooo…

Me: err… ok… ok… I promise not to sign her up for tuition until she is in kindergarten… can?

Everyone: nooooooo…

Me: ok ok lah… I promise not to send her to Kumon or tuition or do worksheets until she is Primary 1.

Very glad that you are recovering well and keeping an active life.

My father is a stroke survivor. It has been close to 15 years since then and I would say he has recovered as much as we can hope for. It was a frightening event for us. I believe your family must have grown closer after what happened.
