<![CDATA[Recommendation of Good Support Mattress for Adults]]>Hi,


Appreciate any feedback on mattress which provides v.good back support ( & px if possible). DH & I have both contributed to the over-straining of our Four Star mattress over the yrs & have q. regular back pains nowadays. Went down to Robinsons today & was recommended one Simmons mattress ($3K plus) & the other, King Koil ($2K plus), both Queen size.

Any feedback on these 2 brands? Or any other good brands?

Memory foam mattresses provide better spinal support than all other available foams and it is very comfortable. I think many brands offer memory foams now
I've been using a memory foam based mattress for the last 3 months. The bed is very firm. I sleep under the fan with no aircon, so it doesn't really get too warm.

As soon as we moved we purchased good memory foam mattresses, these are completely different from those we tried before. I wouldn’t call the price loyal, but it is worth it! The quality of sleep improved much as the memory foam just adjusts to my sleeping position, I got rid of back pains and night sweating. My sister tolerates latex mattresses only as they provide with back and joint support, they’re cheaper and very durable. I tried to avoid latex as much as possible as it provokes allergy. Here is a on the best mattresses of nowadays , memory foam is still the leader as you could notice from this review. I would advise you to go a store and to test out all the mattresses by yourself, later you can order the best one via Amazon, it will be simply cheaper;)

I am looking to replace my 16 year old Simmons, and realise a lot of brands use memory foam now. Doesn’t such foam "memorise" your shape after a while and lose support after a few years? They are usually non-flip too.

Hi there, has anyone heard of getha. It's a 100% latex mattress. I did a search n realised it's a Malaysian brand. Read that latex is all natural n hence is anti dustmite without other chemicals. Anyone can advise how this will compare against simmons and sealy? Tks much!

Some mattresses are double-sided, and to even out the wearing, they advise you to flip the mattress occasionally (top to bottom, and also alternate the top and bottom sides). Otherwise one section/side can be more worn out and the rest of the mattress nearly new.

As for cleanliness, I used to use flat sheets, and they didn't cover the whole underside of the mattress anyway, so I don't see that they are \"cleaner\" than fitted sheets. My reckoning is that what is underneath is dust, not grime, so an occasional vacuuming of the underside of the mattress is good enough. And if you flip your mattress periodically, both sides will be covered some of the time, and you don't come into contact with the mattress directly anyway. I now make sure I get a bed where I can clean underneath easily. My first bed after marriage had sides down to the ground, but no matter how closed up, dust and hair would get underneath, so eventually it got really horrible under there.

Alternatively you can put an older bedsheet as the base.

Flatsheets are those that are just a flat piece of cloth. Needs more skill to fold and tuck underneath the mattress. Fitted sheets are easier to position around the mattress.

So far I only know zip sheets for foam mattresses. Have never seen for king koil/sealy type mattresses (those would be heavy to lift up also).

Zip ones are hard to find, I think. I can't remember seeing any for a long time. Fitted sheets are the norm these days, it seems. Not many flat sheets available either.

Yes, fitted sheet is the norm now.

When using the fitted sheet, the underside is not covered. Is this ok?
