Another man looked a bit old because of lesser hair, walked into the train and said to him \"can I have your seat?\" The man was probably surprised but he asked him to sit next to him. The older repeated this question again and I guess the younger man said the same. The older shouted and said that he was handicap and wanted that seat... He even said \"do you want to fight?\"

I thought a fight was about to start. Luckily, the older one finally sat next to him. Later, the two did some mumbling but no fighting involved.

What say you?

Reply to Tit-for-tat exchange over reserved MRT seats on Thu, 19 May 2011 09:33:04 GMT

poppy15:
why do i keep having this vision of a little old lady the size of the master (rat) in kungfu panda whacking all the heads :scratchhead:

was imagining actually those little old ladies you see in Jap comics like 'ran-ma'. It's quite stressful to sit and occasionally has to look out for passengers who needs the seat more than you.

There was once my friend saw a lady squat down on the train as she's feeling unwell. She asked one of the passengers to give up his seat but he don't agree. Ended up, someone next to him gave up the seat.

These people are outrageously ridiculous and inconsiderate. They acted as if they needed the seat more than the handicapped. How I wished there's someone out there to wake them up.

Same goes for the bus. When those passengers saw pregnant lady or elderly, they simply sit tight and look elsewhere or get themselves busy with their mobile, etc.

Maybe should just put a sign out there, all seats for the needy unless you feel you are handicapped, etc.

carebear:

sall:
It is very hurtful to an overweight lady when she is mistaken as being pregnant.
