There are indeed steps which are similar but yet difference. At times they do mixed them up but overall they still know the differences. To me, the main advantage of TKD is that its grading by STF seems more transferable while Wushu's seems to vary greatly across all the martial art schools. The main advantage of Wushu is that there seem to be more schools offering such in the form of ECAs.
They have since stopped for >6 months as they refocus to prepare for their upcoming PSLE. Without these exercises, their weights have gained tremendously. Thus I hope to restart them in another martial art once their PSLEs are over.
I am looking at Aikido and Karate offered at a nearby CC by \"Aikido Shinju-Kai' and 'Goju-Ryu Karate-Do' respectively. However, both martial arts seem less 'standardised' than TKD (though more than Wushu).
Would like to check with the experts here if the grading by these 2 schools are 'recognised' and 'transferable'. Unlike TKD where there is 1 main association/federation in STF, there seems no such for Karate and Aikido. Appreciate all comments and opinions. Thanks.

darwinkoh

Reply to Wushu, Taekwondo, Aikido and Karate on Tue, 02 Jun 2020 09:35:38 GMT

Serendipity\" post_id=\"1977751\" time=\"1590407829\" user_id=\"9658:

Will a kid who's been taking TKD lessons be confused (in terms of technique) if he starts on wushu?

Should not think so.
