Hi All, I am staying at Mountbatten, and i do have a few choices for my boy, whom i will be sending him to childcare when he turns 18 months (so that i can go back to work).

However, i have the following childcare centres which i dont know which is better, can anyone give me their reviews or comments on this? Many many thanks!

1. ChildFirst
2. Little Skool House
3. Cheri Hearts
4. My First School (NTUC)
5. Eton (717 Mountbatten Rd)

I said, i have to make special arrangement for my son as the sudden no vacancy has again put me in a spot, I m a working mom with no maid, no external help, poor aunty helping to take care of my son have been complaining she cannot handle my v active boy.

Disappointment = 100%

I do not know if i should wait, will they wait for me or fill my spot again?

Sure! I will share after my reviews. Yap, i only intend to send my boy next year after CNY, to socialise and learn more things in school, and also learn how to self-feed himself (haha,...make my job easier). 🙂

still hunting around, dun mind either cc or kindy. yes next yr DD is 3, but she is year end bb so will be turning 2 soon. thats why not in huge hurry to find her a place although i think it will be gd for her to learn & socialise in school.

When i went to Cheri Hearts, didnt get to meet the principal, instead met the administrator. There were not much kids at the time when i went, so nothing much to see.

Going to see Kinderland and Little Skool House this weekend, hopefully can wrap something up. 🙂

Nursery is 3 years old? You thinking of putting your DD to Kindergarten or childcare?

have u visited any of the schools you are enquiring about? it helps to get a feel of the principal & how the teachers are like.

im actually not against those schools that have classes separated into small sections but within the same big space kind. just that when i visited them i was considering the playgroup level (18mths to 2 YO) range & that class had 2 teachers both who did not manage to deal well with the kids, a good one third of the class was throwing tantrums/ crying. so of cos did not leave a gd impression.. mb i visited at a bad timing? :scratchhead:

have not visited childfirst since they are out of my budget :yikes: so cant comment

Actually you are right. I didnt notice that. But Cheri Hearts was not the only presch that i saw that only has partitions within levels, so i thought its ok, but can be difficult to focus at the beginning. 🙂

have not visited the first 3 schools on your list but i did visit cherie hearts @ mounbatten early this year. the place itself is quite new looks spacious enough but the main reason i did not choose them is cos i feel the teachers cant control the kids well. the center is basically a big space n the different levels are segregated into their own sections so its quite noisy. i have visited other schools where the teachers control the kids well so even tho there are different levels tghr in the same open space it is not so noisy. HTH 😄

Glad to know ur child enjoyed Brighton. I hope mine will too. Did the Montessori approach cause any difficulty in adapting to primary 1? I kinda like AM sessions more but they got no space 😞

Btw can u share ur experience with first few days of school? Cos i understand it's just one day orientation and subsequently drop off straight? I can't help but feel worried that I cant be the class?
When I was there, will drop my DS off and leave him to the teachers.. The crying ones are carried and cared for..Surely heartpain but guess got to start somewhere... I will turn up earlier before dismissal to spot check de..
As for year end concert, one can opt out.. Tickets are priced at $65 each, costumes $40 and there are couple more stuff like video and photos ..

I'm sending my child to Brighton at Fort soon ... Any more feedback on the sch?
My DS had a great time when he was there almost two years ago..
Their afternoon Chinese programme is good, and my DS was well prepared for P1..
I heard recently quite a few old staff left already so hopefully things will still be good..

Personally found Childfirst too techy, and they dont have a playground of their own (they have a garden tho). So now am zooming down to Little Skool House / Cheri Hearts.


Havent quite decided yet, and my boy is coming to 18 months soon.

Havent seen Odyssey yet? It will be a driving distance from Mountbatten right?

I live in Mountbatten area too, but so far only heard of ChildFirst, LSH and MFS.
DH's niece went to MFS and it seemed like the only things she learnt were Hokkien terms for male & female private parts... 😓

Have you considered Odyssey the GLobal Preschool on WIlkinson? I visited it recently and liked it a lot. AM plannign to possibly enrol my son there when he turns 3. I’ve also posted a topic on this forum to get some feedback or reviews about the centre…i hope i get some replies that will assist me in the decision making process. How’s your search going?
