Examine what your child really needs, then pick one that is suitable for her. If she is weak in problem sums and heuristics but strong in fundamentals, buying maths456 will not help much but the mathsheuristics book might be useful. Pardon me for my ignorance. I don't quite understand the part where you mentioned questions that are unique in paper one? The not so common kind of questions, meaning the questions that requires one to think out of the box and occurs in paper 1?

if that is what you meant, you can try the assessment book called Raffles Maths from Popular. They have a few books in total. Its not very expensive, so I am sure you can get all of them. However, do note that these are enrichment books and questions like those only comes out at most 5% in the PSLE and exams. If your child is that close to full marks then thats the book you might want to look out for. Otherwise my advise would be to keep to the heuristics and fundamentals first.
Do contact me should you need further advice ya.

Regards,
Peter

VisualTextEducation

Reply to Help For math paper 1, section b on Sat, 18 Jun 2011 14:19:23 GMT

Brenda10:

VisualTextEducation:
Simon Eio assessment book will only be useful after your DD has acquired certain aptitude in the subject. maths456 is good for slow and steady scaffolding.
