I ran a quick google of the handbags our late Mrs Lee took to the WH to meet the Reagans. I think she carried a mini Gucci at the lawn and for the state dinner, she toted a nondescript black purse with thin metallic chains (not chanel). She'd carried that same chain bag to London to meet the Thatchers.

Janet's right. Her arm when she fell from a hoverboard. Believe she was briefed that it's a lawn event, and the ceremony will be long, hence the flats not heels that will dig into the lawn.

Yes, they click. Probably because Flotus who's from 2 Ivies, thinks highly of HC who's from Stanford (kids from MIT and working/worked in US IT firms). I notice she wasn't like that with Peng Liyuan from China. Peng outshines Flotus in appearance, but is less educated.
