I really dun care even if people swim naked... but at least wash yourself clean. I wish we had the Japanese respect for public soaks. They wash themselves really clean before they dip - WITH SOAP. I read somwhere that some hot springs are fave hangouts of the yakuza and they DO THINGS to people who don't wash properly. That's something yakuza-ish worth learning from eh?

Agree. Isn't there an unwritten rule that you should shower BEFORE entering the pool? That's what the showers located near pools are for.

some time ago, this was very common is Sg Poly pool....can see these younsters coming in from their other sports....sweaty and dirty...then go for a dip in their sports shorts.

I don't think such behaviours are confined only to foreigners. I've seen locals doing such things too.
Yup! Can be both local and foreigners.
And amongst the most disgusting things I observed are:

1. clearing their nose onto the floor in the public and then cleaning their hands against handrails, wall or any convenient surfaces

2. drivers opening doors at traffic junctions and spitting onto the road. Ever saw taxi driver spitting after rinsing their mouths.

3. Leaving used tissue in used utensils at food centres

4. Leaving cigerette ends in used glasses/cups in food centre

prob more but these came to mind now...

There are some seats outside the enrichment centre that my kids go to for their Chinese lessons. Each of these bench can seat 4-5 people. But there are times when I see this set of parents or grandparents, they will sit cross legged on the bench reading papers. And at times, they start peeling the skin off their feet or scrapping between their toes. These fellas are definitely locals.

There is a playground just outside my kid’s childcare. The children from the centre love to play there and parents will allow their kids to mingle at the playground in the evenings after picking them up. Mind you, the playground to the centre is just a few steps away but I have seen many parents telling their kids to just pee at a tree or near the lamp post instead of walking that few steps to use the toilet at their childcare. The teachers have to address the children about such behaviours and the kids’ response was my mummy or daddy says it is ok.

My kids have their swimming lessons at the pool in our estate. Their coach came to me with a kid once asking me to help bring the kid to the toilet as his mum was no where in sight. After that, when I went back to the pool, another girl in the same session as DS told me this, my mummy say if I need to pee just pee in the pool, no need to go to the toilet, so troublesome.

That's why I gave up swimming. At one point, I decided I should just hold my head up during swimming (breaststroke only) and did train my neck to hold there. But finally, I think it's easily just not to get into the water...too many images. it's not just kids' pool, adults one also I'm sure.

I also see oneday,after that I told my son don't drink the swimmig pool water cos people spit into the water.After that he stopped cos he can't hold his breath long time.I didn't expect people can spit into the pool.Very disgusting!How minded people are they?I am not sure are they foreigner or local.
