Hi,

I came across a Math Enrichment Centre called the X-Factor Quotient at Thomson Imperial Court. Has anyone tried or got kids enrolled in their centre? Appreciate some inputs.

Thought it was good having this experienced ex-MOE tr teaching Math in X Factor. But practically using half the time making them do on the spot worksheets and can be MIA from classroom at times. At that time, my child was preparing for SA2 exam and I would expect this tr shld be more productive in teaching and have the worksheets bring back home to do during weekends.

Also, the methods used were not to standard as my child actually bought the sch worksheet to ask for help. Ended up, the sch tr marked as ‘This is not correct method !’

Any recent updates of the quality of the teachers at X factor? Happen to stumble upon this thread..... wonder if they take in 4 years old who can do pretty well with numbers......

Hi, this centre covers pretty challenging material for upp pri. I hv seen their p6 worksheets, they are good. My child didn't sign up cuz timing wasnt ideal and class size is rather big imo.
I am not sure if they hv classes for preschoolers but I honestly doubt they do.

Hi ssyy, some of their teachers were ex-TLL and others were formal school teachers from a prestigious school nearby. X-factor is conducting IP classes for secondary. You may want to check as I know they have classes for different schools so as to follow closely to their school curriculum. Give them a call at 62505877 to check it out.

Thus explains my inactive status in the forum. Previously, I was sharing that I might be enrolling my younger child on the pre-P1 and I must give credit to the teacher. He has built a strong foundation on the concept and is able to tackle most word problems at his level with ease. I'm glad to give him the head start and stimulated his interest in math. He is more keen now try those challenging questions. Kudo to his teacher..... 🙂

Yes heard he is from Science Lab. Guess since they have just started Science classes, they need time to build up their intake first, before adding on more teaching staff. As they grow, they hope to provide a one stop service to parents. At the end of the day, we, as parents, will have to decide what is good for our kids.

Sorry... was busy with the kids.... their activities really drain me dry. :roll:

Usaik : they started off my their math program. As for the science, I understand that a male teacher is incharge. You may want to check on their website at http://www.xfq.com.sg. As for math, they have teachers for different levels. They also have teachers who specialised in the GEP curriculum. It is best that you call the centre to check on the vacancy as well as the timing.


Laurenwkids : for my case, since my daughter is still with the same teacher, I can't say for sure both centres teach the same way. I personally feel that the curriculum for both centres are pitched higher than the curriculum in school. So the factor that decides will be the teachers.

I strongly recommend that you call the centre to find out more.

I was browsing the forum and quite some time now and I thought it's only fair that I start to contribute. Honestly, I have found many useful information through reading the postings in this forum.

I was with x factor quotient since they were opened in June last year. My eldest child was with TLL under her teacher decided to leave. I managed to find out that she was starting a centre of her own with another teacher and thus decided to join her centre then. I must say that my child has benefited from her since P1. She has been an excellent teacher, giving constant feedback on my child progress as and when it's required. As for my second one, I intend to enrol him into their pre P1 class which will be starting soon. Hopefully this will give him a good headstart for his P1.

Well it depends..... Different schools have different standards and also whether the 70plus to 80 is due to carelessness for the marks loss or genuinely having problems with the questions.
