I have just paid $2.5k for Grolier International books & CD for my 2 young children age 1 and 3.

It is expensive investment. This price consist of

words vocabulary
a story a day
i wonder why,
logico
magic english
story book with cd
bookcase


Just wondering can anyone share with me your experience either positive or negative about using this education system?

How well is this education system prepare your child for his/her euducation journey?

How do you make full use of it?

I keep asking myself whether i have made the right choice.

I realized the talking pen or digital pens seems to have a usage period before it dies off.

Anyone experience this? It last about a year and then says "no data found"

A new pen cost over a hundred. So far I’ve purchase at least twice. There is no way to repair or reset or redownload the pen not the data.

Hi, after so many years, are you still using the books? I met a salesman myself who tried to use some hardselling tactics with me. I said I need more time to think - he said the offer ended y'day but he was happy to stretch the offer just for me, just for one more day.

Is such a heavy investment really worth it?

I spend few thousands on a entire set of encyclopedia for juniors to advance learners, history… and younger readers to advance reader…(thinking I will make full use of them since I am a stay home mum) In the end, they are now white elephants! There are plentiful of resources in library, bookshops, internet…need not spend so much $$$. Don’t be like me, very KS, buy everything I can find but never make full use of them as new/updated materials are available easily.

My personal opinion is education needs not to spend tons of $$$$.

Do visit library often enough and should you really want to buy, go for used books, cheaper and might be still in new condition.

For encyclopedia, it updates regularly, please dont’t buy and wait for your kids to get ready to read. Do look for real pictures should you need one. Anyway all these information are readily available in library or Internet.

We were approached by grobooks at the baby fair today at expo. This was the first time, I have come across such educational books, and pretty impressed with the set Disney Words Words Words...think was like 6 books in a set? Asked about the price, however was told by the sales person, they don't just sell by a single set. Was offered to pick any 3 sets at 970, with free book case plus 1 free consultancy service in the comfort of your home, to teach you the right way to teach your kiddos. Was pretty keen but a little skeptical over the non-transparency of the books prices. Read a little bit more on the Internet, and amazed that some parents a few years back spent more than 2k on the books plus some Logico products; from the description, sounds like the IQ product I was also shown at the fair. So at 970 it prob seems prices had come down alittle?
Now my question is. So far had anyone here use their services, and reviews pls? It do appears to me that it's a pretty good edu tool to self teach my ever active boy, to start picking up reading and vocab. I'm actually quite keen to just get the Disney words set, but cant seem to find a price to it on the net. Any offers on 2nd hand ones? Do PM me. Thanks all.
I got the set with the logico product at $2k plus many years back. The logico was well utilised..and as for the books, it was collecting dusts for the first 2 years until my #2 started to learn reading..even to date..after 5 years, my kids do still read the pictorial encyclopedia for leisure. Now I am waiting for my #3 to be older to start him with the Logico set..so I guess it is a worthwhile investment for me. I know of a mother who also bought the set with me at the same time..but none of the kids are keen with the books except the logico sets. So in the end, she sold the books away.

It’s a great game, but after some time, it’s kinda boring cos the game is very repetitive. and for that price, it’s not so worth it.


I paid around $150 for the controller and just 1 set comprises of 5 books (not the complete set).

ya, the fun thinker is for the smaller kids, Logical is more to the elder kids. The title for the books is \"help me be good\". I think your kids should be able to read it themself. 😄


Ya, ur two kid gaps is dfferent by one year, how are you going to teach them? I heard majority mummies saying that different 1-2 yo can teach together, how about your method? By the way, u are SAHM or FTWM? 😉
It is difficult to teach them together as they have different learning aptitude altogether..the elder one is slow, but careful, always go by the rule and aim for perfection..she prefers repetitive tasks..and prefer language than Maths. The younger one is rather witty and impatient, and very careless..she likes to hand on and explore answer herself. I really can;t teach them together at the same time - both will talk or distract each other, if not, they will vie for my attention together :stupid: .

Currently the elder one is in P1 afternoon session, I usu spend the morning doing revision work with her. The younger one is in K2 morning session, I did not really teach her except her school spelling. I usu let her do her own stuff (drawing, colouring, activities books). After dinner, if the elder one has no homework, I will let them spend time together with each other (so that I can have a breather). But we read together almost every night before bed time.

I just turned into SAHM this year... 😉 I m glad I am still surviving..
