May should go read the other thread on in laws. May pick up some learning points over there.
No need - no learning points there already. Just ignore. Bc she is 93yo but still quite strong, but quite deaf, and of course some dementia, and very very stubborn. So for me, ignore is the only way, then just pick up the mess. If I don't do that, will have huge fights worse than WWIII and I think all of that wastes even more time when you try to reason with a stubborn quite deaf lady that keeps misinterpreting what you say. Some of the stories from my house are very very funny but very \"pekcek\" when you have to deal with it. I can compile the stories. HAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!

She is as precious to your DH, just like your mum to you. Manage it just like office conflict, if you don't like, just ignore and pretend to be deaf and blind, always remember, 1 hand cannot clap, it takes 2 to clap.

Old people just wanna exert their authority, when they find that you are just \"dump\" (act dump), they will give up disturbing you.
Have already ignored her for many years, bc it makes the situation worse not to. It's super-quiet on my side. I only observe and am all-ears. But *hah*, I have become the accused in many circumstances since. Everything, blame is put on me. Baffles me why I would even be considered to *steal* her sharks' fin/sauces from her room, adjusting things in her room, when she always locks her room plus many other things lah. Very amusing, but I just remain the accused. In the office, if you ignore, that's just fine, but in our house, I ignore and still have to pick up the mess quietly after that (when she's not looking some more, or else got more to say). *oops*. Oh well. Yes, poor DH's ears though, but he's developed partial deafness. Sadly, that extends to being deaf towards me too. ;( Actually, she could stay with her daughter(no family) instead of being all crowded in our household of 8 persons, but then, her daughter cannot keep quiet, so fight all the time.

Now, let's not start on my mom, hor. *haha*.

Lucky for you. Used to be that way for us. Until FIL got sick and it was just ridiculous that DH had to drive up north to visit them every weekend. So got them to stay with us in s'pore, so she's been here ever since. ;(
