I’ve seen quite a number of students switch to ACSI fr Barker when they perform well in Yr 1. Possible reasons are aspiration to embrace the ACSI culture. These are perceptions tho.<br /><br />Do note :-<br /><br />Students at ACSI (Express or IP/IB) are expected to do at least 2 CCAs (compulsory). One has to be a uniform grp &amp; the other any choice of child subj to vacancies. This is not DSA but normal CCAs.<br /><br />The school believes in healthy &amp; fit both intellectually &amp; physically besides personal choice &amp; involvement with spiritual devpt. ACS Independent charges independent school fees, regardless of whether you're in Express or IB. $320 for Express and $340 for IB iirc. I don't know anybody from my school who did 4HLs and 2SLs, so I'm not sure if it's allowed. I wouldn't recommend doing that though, because the workload for the normal 3HLs and 3SLs is already very intensive, considering the amount of work and effort that goes into doing IAs and the EE. <br /><br />Students are free to choose what subjects they want to do for HLs and SLs, but those wanting to do SL ab initio foreign languages must have taken Higher MT in sec sch, and those wanting to do HL math must take an aptitude test first. The test is only to give the student a rough gauge on whether they'll be able to do well in HL math, you don't need to achieve a certain score to be allowed to do HL math.[/quote]Thank you for your reply! I don't know anybody from my school who did 4HLs and 2SLs, so I'm not sure if it's allowed. I wouldn't recommend doing that though, because the workload for the normal 3HLs and 3SLs is already very intensive, considering the amount of work and effort that goes into doing IAs and the EE. <br /><br />Students are free to choose what subjects they want to do for HLs and SLs, but those wanting to do SL ab initio foreign languages must have taken Higher MT in sec sch, and those wanting to do HL math must take an aptitude test first.
