I joined this website on the same day as you too. I have two kids - a girl and a boy.

I was a school teacherl and was particular about student centre that can provide healthy meal, good tuition service with patient teachers and yet condusive environment and I was willing to pay.

I placed my daughter in one of them which was located opposite her school (South View Primary) when she was in primary 1 and she picked up all the vulgar words from the senior and the worst was that one of the students' maid let my girl consumed one of the plastic bullet covering of that child's medicine - shocked and withdrew her. Tried some maid but finally resigned from teaching and become a housewife till now. You really ought to be extremely careful when you search for one ( although I was already extremely careful and I was also the very KIASU type ).
So even if you managed to get one that you like, do remember to check with your child about things that was happening in the care-centre.

From that time onwards, I was thinking of setting up a family-friendly student care centre with small teacher-student ratio rate (1:6 max) looking into the child's meal, studies and up bringing so as to provide parents who have same problem like me to have a peace of mind at work. But it is still my aim only - but who knows when my second kid goes to secondary school next year and when I am all alone at home , I may really set up one at home.

How, anyone keen to come to my Home Student Care Centre (accepting only primary 1 students) - a condominium in Choa Chu Kang - ha...ha... ha... If enough students, I may really start one.

Ya, you're kinda right on the confusion.
Are the kids stressed or the parents?

And yes, Zhenghua is high on aesthetics
with like SYF and oversea performance(s)
opportunities. A friend's girl gotta a stint
last March hols to Hong Kong Disneyland
for a choir recital and exchange cultural
programme with sch in HK. Have yet to
catch up with them since they got back,
but i'm sure there are loads of memories
to share..

I can see hot favour in my area is Beacon and Bukit Panjang.
Being for sure i am in the Phase 2C and both school is fall under 1-2KM region. I surely will be out.

Hence, left with ZhengHua and GreenRidge le.
I am sourcing for a student care first. Then will see which school is more nearer the student care.

Uniform colour oso okay, white and green.

Beacon is most popular cause its one of the newer
primary schools set up there, so it took in slightly
lower P1 enrolment the first time it started. Dunno
about now... must check.

Mine oso happy in neighbourhood school. We didn't
ballot. No wait list. No need to do PV. Very easy breezy
experience, totally no stress. Then when you get letter
of acceptance from the school, some will arrange for
Primary One Preparatory Class - like a few days work
shop kinda thingy to get the kids accustomed to the
school grounds, its facilities, buying food at the canteen
and also some revision lessons for children with their
future P1 classmates.. (for a small fee).

He's referring to the school you attended when you were
attending Primary education.. if you attended one of the
schools within Bt Panjang area, then can go through
Phase 2B to enlist your boy for P1 (in your old school).
Would have higher chance of entry if you represented
the school committee or was a high flyer or contributed
to the school in a way when you were in the school then.
Like the best basketball player leading school to national
championship.. or you were leading the soccer team then..
or you were the head prefect, etc.
