My daughter used to dislike enrichment classes, we started her on a term with Berries & Kumon and she requested to stop after one term.


What I like about SAM is that they used many useful hands-on tools to engage the kids. The worksheets given at the end of each lesson are also do-able yet somewhat challenging. My daughter has been attending for 5 weeks and so far so good…

I think good about SAM is the non-stop repetitive practice/homeworks for kids, train discipline and impose understanding of Maths…I’m so worried abt my gal before she joined as she didn’t have any idea of simple additions/subtractions (like 1+2, etc). After she joined SAM, few months see her improvement…2 digits additions/subtractions/problem sums all in within these few months. At least well-prepared her for P1. Cannot imagine she totally ignorant of all these before go to P1 when other kids all familiar with these basic maths.

My DS started at the Marine Parade branch but we can’t follow when they moved to Tampines. From Jan, he will also start at SAM Toa Payoh branch. You can get more details at their facebook page, Seriously Addictive Mathematics Toa Payoh or talk to the centre manager.

Before that he was at Kumon at Marine Parade but getting him to class and doing the daily worksheets is a nightmare. He was crying every other day. I have friends whose kids did well at Kumon but I also have friends whose kids hated it and did badly at PSLE. My current belief is to stick to something close to MOE syllabus or Singapore Maths and also our kids need to enjoy it while learning.

Which branch did you enrol your son in? Mine is in toa payoh. Just enrolled recently. Hopefully i made the right choice.
