<![CDATA[How often do you shampoo your kid's hair ?]]>My wife insists to shampoo my kid’s hair twice a day.

Is it bad for the skin ?

I bathe them twice a day - Morning shower just water only (冲凉), evening shower then give shampoo and baby bathe (洗澡). I believe our skin needs natural oil and too much soap is harmful to our skin in long run.
Mine are sweat a lot too but luckily they are all boys and I keep their hair real short. Nowadays, they teased each other 'bo-ta' after hair cut. Guess someone teased them? But they are having fun saying 'bo-ta' to each other :lol:

Mild Shampoo for kids, followed by good conditioner for kids.
Blow dry the inner layer with low heat (or high heat with towel over head).
Leave outer layer semi-dry to air dry. 😉

Mine both twice a day, without fail. No hairdrying. Only self-dry.

Nothing wrong with your sense of smell but mother's love is possible as I suspect the same for me.... :lol:

I do it twice a day. After that blow dry with hair dryer at a semi low heat away from the scalp.

However I do put olive oil (Olivin from pharmacy) to make sure that his hair remains conditioned.
Was recommended by the nurse at the babycare class.

Her hair is VERY long so shampoo-ing twice a day is unthinkable. And of course she is still using baby hair shampoo, suits her very well. 😄

But I try to ensure she uses very little shampoo, often no more than 2 peas’ worth.


When it was cooler a few months ago, she could go with once a day better.

It also depends on the choice of shampoo. Some shampoos are lousy, won’t clear the smell, or will become pungent later on which is almost as bad. Must choose good shampoo. Some experimenting is often necessary.

We’re currently using the L’Oreal range, not bad.

She sweats a lot and is very active. Only exceptions are when she is very tired (then must wash at earliest opportunity) or sick. We use mild shampoo meant for children and it has conditioning qualities too. She will wash when she reaches BASC after school in the afternoon. Especially must wash when it's PE day. Then, she will wash again when she gets home at night. By then, she would have ran around and jumped and climbed and sweated so much, it looks like she hasn't showered at all for a day. :roll:


If she has to wash her hair just before bedtime, I will dry her hair with my hair dryer. It is a small hair dryer with only one low setting and I usually use the cool air (instead of hot air) to dry her hair so that I don't spoil her hair. Anyway, I rarely have to do this.

once a day with shampoo is enough, kids dont use hairgel, spray ....

Excessive wash is bad for the scalp but.....only rinse with water during the first shower, shampoo during the 2nd time shower is ok.

If she wants to wash with shampoo each time your kid shower, then you must buy a very light or mild shampoo.

Again, how old is your kid? Very active type? Sweat alot? Is there any \"sweat smell\" after playing?

Remember do not wash the hair if it is too late at night even though after a outing, the child may catch cold. Myth or Real? but I choose to believe.

My 7yr old boy washes his hair twice a day. Once before he goes school, only rinse with water. In the evening after his sch, I will shampoo his crew-cut hair. He is very active in sch moreover he is in the afternoon session.

Maybe u can use a milder shampoo or use lesser amount.
