I track all my servicings and actually instruct the mechs. The servicing range frm S$400+ - S$800k depending on how major is the servicing.

Also, as our mileage is very high, we usually based on 3 months time frame to service rather than 5km or 10km.

For tyres, we do rotation every 10km so that it can last better. Our tyres lasted for 60,000km. Usually they say it's around 40,000km.

Just before we were about to sell our car eg. weeks/ days before, our ody died on us. The starter cannot start. :gloomy: Hubby asked toll truck to toll it to nearby workshop (the place we usually get our tyres) and they wanted to charge us around $800+ for a recon starter. :yikes: We thought outside workshop is cheaper. Dh tried his luck with kah motor and surprisingly they got recon starter too. In the end, we had to ask AA to toll our car to kah motor but we change the starter for $300+ recon set. We were supposed to hand over the car to the dealer in few days/ week's time. So we had to do it.

Our current car is a estima from PI. Going for 1st servicing this friday. We decided to go to comfort delgro as part of their authorised workshop. Not sure if it is good but sounded \"reputable\". They said the servicing is S$138 if we choose mobil oil iso in house oil. But I thought $138 sounded \"cheap\" compared to our previous servicing. PI kept telling us that outside servicing is very cheap only. Have yet to experience it as so far we only went to the distributors' workshops. We even did that for our 1st car which was 7 years old when we bought it. Even then... we still get unpleasant surprises almost every other month.

But we had a tyre situation last year. A jagged tool got stuck to our tyre when we were on the way to the kids' school. No choice, we managed to drive to comfort delgro as it was near the school. The tyre was not cheap.

MMM
