It seems rather funny that kids' grades can lead to a D...but ultimately it's very sad that the grades have ruined the marital relationship.

I don't think we have the whole story. This may be the reason given for the divorce but when relationships go wrong, there are too many reasons. Some reasons are clear and can articulated, others are just too complicated that words can't even describe them. The lady could have just highlighted the reason for the recent quarrels, and the tangible one ie poor grades.

I thought so too. Grades slip trigger divorce may be blown out of context.

I do understand how stressful our education system is...like Korea, China & Taiwan...but it can't possibly go to the extent of a divorce right ?
I do get very mad with my hubby when he doesn't help out with coaching...but this lady sure needs counselling with her hubby as to what the REAL underlying reason for a D. My hubby will want to bring kids out for Mcdonalds ice cream, West Coast Park and all that...but he has to know the timing to do so.

Actually, if the woman is so stressed or depressed to think of divorcing to solve the problem of son's falling grades, surely she needs more care and concern to snap out of such thoughts. Her husband and family should shower her with their unwavering love to get her out of the depression.

When a woman put her son's grades above her hubby, then the D word is inevitable.
The way she insist on the letter insisting on hubby having bad influence by bring son out for breaks and leisure, maybe just an excuse to get out of the relationship. mabbe someone 'outside has a leg' ? :siam:
