They had two maidsarêter my grandfather’s heart op, one to take care of household chores, another to take care of bedridden grandfather. All the children worried that he was at his deathbed cos never had they seen him so physically weak and tired.

Turned out the maid in charge of his care had been feeding him extra doses of his sleeping pills so she could slip out at nite and do stupid nonsense. Went on for at least 3-4months. In the end the other maid told my grandmother what was happening and both maids were sent packing home fast. Thankfully my grandfather became more alert after that, and he managed to survive (lucidly!) for a couple more years.

Anyway, after hearing this and other horrible incidents regarding maids, I decided to do without full time maids. Too fantastic!

Then why do they keep insisting that the levy is to discourage people from employing maids?

Yes, with kids solely taking care of kids. If takecare elderly, they solely takecare of elderly, neglected other chores.

We worked Monday to Friday. Evening back, we have to spend time with kids, bonding and reading to them. Sat need not work but must bring kids for outing or ferry them to enrichment class – Sunday? Cannot rest, cos maid is off even no off, she also self-declare off not doing any cleaning at home.

Who do the dirtiest stuff? We have to do it, maid never looks into corners, back of doors, underneath cupboard - full of dusts. Toliet yellowish, bathroom walls mouldy. Windowns hardly clean. Table cloth super brown, said washed but still like that. Cooking so so – must instruct what to cook or else they won’t cook or fry fishball & eggs, all the time.
Told her to do, yes she will do, but after 1 month back to square. Once asked her to vaccum whole house before I went out, after 30 min I returned, asked has she vaccumed and she said yes. I touched the vacuum cleaner, not hot at all. My main reasons to have maid is to help bring kids to child care and back, do household chores also prepare dinner. After she send kids to CC, She’s the boss, no one to hawk on her. She’s lazy pretend not to see dusts. She only wash, iron, sweep floor and I know she don’t even mop the floor everyday.

We have no choice, but to close one eye. Trouble to train new maid, worried next maid kids not use to her, worried next maid can be more worst..... worried next maid will have to pay even more.

Maid super or working mum super??? Whose life is harder?

ksks3mum

Reply to Fantastic Maids on Sun, 10 Jun 2012 08:23:56 GMT

http://news.omy.sg/News/Local%2BNews/Story/OMYStory201206101500-341107.html

http://i49.tinypic.com/29wtu1g.jpg\">

verykiasu2010

Reply to Fantastic Maids on Tue, 05 Jun 2012 15:42:04 GMT

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

verykiasu2010

Reply to Fantastic Maids on Tue, 05 Jun 2012 12:43:59 GMT

Metis:
Aiyoh! She was with me for 2.5 years. I had just renewed her work permit when she was discovered to have a huge cyst in her womb. I brought her to see Specialists to make sure she was not having Cancer but the tests freaked her out and she asked if she could go home to recuperate. Luckily I had saved part of her salary for the time she worked for me and I topped it up with a small sum so she could use the money to seek treatment. Gave her a necklace too as keepsake. I told her to come back to work for me when she is well again. I kept my word. 3 years already and I have not hired another maid. Her hometown is really far and her agent could not reach her too. She was not the verbal or initiative type but our characters really matched. I liked that she minded her own business and was independent. I could trust her with my home and kids. Sigh. Such a compatible maid is really hard to find. Prior to her, I had 2 maids who stole my stuff and shouted at me so you can imagine how much I appreciated the last one.

Canvas

Reply to Fantastic Maids on Wed, 07 Mar 2012 08:08:42 GMT

By Elena Chong

An Indonesian maid has been charged with stealing $37,000 from her employer.

Atik Yuli Hastuti, 34, was charged a week ago with stealing a DBS ATM card from her employer, Ms Deborah Ann Henretta, 50, Procter & Gamble's group president for Asia.

The theft took place at Ms Henretta's Cluny Park Road house on Feb 22.

Nineteen charges of theft of cash totalling $37,000 from her employer were filed against her on Thursday.

http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/Singapore/Story/STIStory_774810.html

verykiasu2010

Reply to Fantastic Maids on Fri, 02 Dec 2011 00:06:59 GMT

peapot:
Ha..happyh don't worry too much about this.
