There was a king-sized bed, a sofa-bed and a loft bed high up the ceiling and it was a hit with my 4 yo boy!

3 adults, one kid and a baby can fit into this family room - my hubby and boy slept on the king-size bed, baby and me slept on the sofa-bed which opened up into a thick mattress on the floor and maid slept on the loft bed!

As for swimming, although we stayed at the Festive Hotel, we went swimming at the Hard Rock Hotel next door instead. We checked out the swimming pool at Festive Hotel and thought it was not great at all, kinda remote, small and claustrophic. Happened to go to Hard Rock Hotel next door for lunch and thought the swimming area looks nice, bright and cheery in constrast hence decided to go swimming there. BTW, guests staying at any of the RWS hotels are allowed to swim at the Hard Rock pool so we took our boy there which is just a short walk away from the side-door at Festive. What a nice surprise when we actually saw the swimming pool - it was filled with SAND! Yes! Never in my life have I seen a Sand swimming pool in a hotel before! The kids pool is like a crescent shape with sand at the edge just like a seashore. It leads gradually into the swimming pool filled with sand at the bottom too and water at 1.2m deep. Whoa! How glad I was to trust my instinct to go swimming at Hard Rock hotel instead of the Festive hotel! That morning the swimming pool was filled with kids and their families so it was really cheerful and my boy enjoyed himself very much! The kids club is also at Hard Rock hotel so I have decided that the next time we visit Sentosa, we will try staying at Hard Rock hotel instead! But just understand that it is a themed hotel so the music is really kinda loud at the cafe and the lobby is so dark you can hardly see so it is not targeted at families. But the pool is really outta the world. So if you are staying at the Festive hotel, please remember to go swimming at the Hard Rock pool OK?

As for food, the whole RWS area with the themed hotels and Universal Studio itself are filled with restaurants and food outlet but not a single fast food restaurant or a food court ok? We had Chinese take-aways at Ruyi which seems to be the cheapest of the lot with prices something like SGD6.80, 7.80 and 8.80 for a bowl of noodles/rice. We also had fish and chips at one of the western restaurant/bar for about SGD9.90 which was really good! We had dinner at Chillis as well which is my favourite restaurant from old! Other times we had breakfasts at Festive hotel which were included in our room booking and cost about SGD28 for an adult and SGD14 for kids 4 yo and above. Really not cheap at all and like what another forumner said, better buy some buns at Breadtalk and be done!

We also had lunch on the first day at Hard Rock hotel buffet at the recommendation of the receptionist which cost about SGD45 for an adult and halve price for kids. Not quite what we expect for the price of SGD45 so I highly recommend you give it a miss and eat outside! The most disheartening of our whole stay is the food price because really does it make sense to pay SGD140 for just one lunch? Price we pay for not doing enough research on the food choices available! But I read this thread beforehand so at least I knew there was a Breadtalk around so after that expensive lunch went searching for it and found the food paradise lor!

Since my kids are still very young, we did not go into the Universal Studio at all but went to the Underwater World instead which is inclusive of the Dolphin and Sea Lion show right at the Underwater World itself so it was really convenient and worth the ticket price.

Must go back to Sentosa to stay and swim in the sand pool again soon, probably during the 1st term holiday. I just stayed at the Festive Hotel at RWS in the same type of room - Deluxe Family King - and it was great! I had a 2yo and a 7yo with me. The 7yo loved the loft bed so much that we promised to make him a similar one when we buy a new house. I slept on the sofa bed and DW slept in the king bed with my 2yo. Just rite for a family with more than one kid. It’s located near shops and restaurants so I didn’t even need to get out of the resort. But do bring along packet drinks, tidbits, fruits etc coz there’s no supermarket nearby except for a really lousy 7-11. Breakfast was Breadtalk / Toastbox since it was not included in my package.
