It will GENERALLY include a new skill, a new sport, new books, performances, and places to visit. I will also pencil in dates in the calender public performances that I would like to take my kids to.

The things that you named - coloring, tv, toys, books - are non-interactive and a young child will not be satisfied with them.

The days can pass very quickly. Holidays can really be a good time to catch up on sleep and explore activities that we otherwise will be too busy for.
