I heard that at ACS(I) they do not usually have their full IB quota in Year 1 due to the 25+ cut-off for IB. thats why there is vacancy at Year 3 for students to move into IB.

They are increasing the COP for affiliations to bring the standard of the school up. With a low COP for affiliates, there will be less places left for non-affiliates (coz if affiliates meet the low COP set, and list the school as 1st choice, they get in first). Then the remaining places will be given to non-affiliates. With higher COP for affiliates, less qualify, so more will be avail to non-affiliates, and as such, COP for non-affiliates may drop a little. Anyway, thats how I see it. Actual COP for non affiliates ultimately will depend on the demand for that year.

I heard MGS has also raised their COP for affiliates.

Mvm

Reply to Anybody has these information for ACS(I) and SJI? on Sat, 26 Nov 2011 17:30:56 GMT

Exactly, this is very strange…becos my understanding was, COP depends on demand and supply of the cohort?
