Please advise schools for 226 T-score in west.Can we opt for schools with 230 T-Score as first choice?

Would highly recommend Westwood. School facilities are new, environment is very conducive for studies, they put a lot of effort to support the children taking o levels. They have a study group in school. Principal and teachers are all strict and no nonsense type. I had spoken to a few of them. The feeling is v good.

My son’s T-score is 200 and I’m thinking of Tanglin, Kent Ridge, Shuqun and Hong Kah. The first 2 will have to travel about 30-40 min from our home and Hong Kah will be about 20 min. Shuqun is the nearest, 5 min walk. Which school will be the best out of these 4 as in academic, sport and social?

My son scores 204 and there are a few schools in my mind in the west area but it seems like his score is neither here nor there Base on his score, i have narrowed down my search with the following schools in mind. Can you advise which is a better choice?


Boon Lay, Bukit View, Hillgrove, Hong Kah, Jurong West, Juying, New Town, Shuqun, Westwood.

By the way, is JurongVille good?

are your friends DSA cases? or they already successful in their appeal?

even with dsa, after going in, he shd b able to catch up with the work. else if he cannot make it to the school standard, ie. if they are bottom few, they may be asked to transfer to other schools. that is demoralise the kid. do not choose a school that has cutoff too far from his own..

My DD got 227, we are very disappointed because we estimated 237. So we have to get over it and move on. Anyone went to the various Jurong school open house today? Any feedback about those school? We went to Jurong Sec then to HuaYi. Jurong Sec students were quite mature, polite and helpful. However the location and surrounding was not satisfying because its around the old estate of Jurong with old HDB flats besides the school waiting to be demolished. HuaYi didn't give me a good and positive impression. Actually we were hoping that FuHua willl have an open house but they didn't.

227 should try clementi town. Just next to clementi mrt station. cutoff 231. heard this year cos of the difficult maths and also more students in cohort, more classes will be added to several top schools. as such, there will be a cascading effect and the cutoff is likely reduced. could be 3-5 points for some schools (esp those with added classes).

It will be very noisy and dusty when the children are having classes. That’s my concern too. May leave Jurong out.
