hmmm it seems to be rather easy?

all of my relatives had 10-20marks lesser than they expected.
i don’t really know if i got my expected marks, but my mum expected me to get around 5 marks more?
my school improved though, with 40++% getting higher than 250.

My school’s top 4 students had improvements compared to prelims. The top score is higher than last year’s but the no. of pupils scoring 240 & above was lesser than last year’s.

as for me, I am the second in my school but my aggregate is only 258, distinction for HCL. The first in my school is only 262, distinction for HCL. Third is only 255 and Merit for HCL. So far, in my schhol, only the first and second have gotten Distinction for HCL.:(

how many students are in P6?
1st - 262
2nd - 258
3rd - 255
4th and so on - below 255

Most of the people in my school had better PSLE scores than their Prelims. The prelim score differentiate from different score so some schools may have higher prelim scores. In overall, my school did well but we have the lowest top in years. Most people improve from prelims by like 10-20 points btw.

My dd's pri sch has got the lowest top this yr as well. Hope it'll be better in the following years :rahrah:

but this year for 2011 sec one intake the COP didnt drop that much though much did not do well so i think this year there will not be much difference

IMHO the overall performance of a school depends on many factors.

1. The co-hort of the level. Of course the school can/should do their best to realise the full potiential of their students but there is so much you can do cos if they are generally weak, the school can’t set the standard too high and fail all the students.
2. This point is in relation to point 1. Iron sharpens iron. The students will influence one another in their performance.
3. The educators can make or break the students’ performance.
4. Parental involvement.
How committed the educators and parents are will determine which way the wind blows.

That's probably due to streaming. If the PSLE paper was easier and everyone does well, the score will be lower. See 2009 with a math killer paper that left many crying. Highest was like 290 or sth.

Maybe your prelim was harder?

Same here, worst in school history, most students, even those in the top, dropped by 10+ to 20+ marks. General comments from students & parents, prelim (prelim score : 280++) so tough, PSLE (PSLE score : 260++) so easy .... funny right ?
