But whether the food is hygienic is my concern if I'm a consumer.<br /><br />Culture? where does it start? Not by telling 1 or 2 persons off, but by on-going education program, including signboard to tell pple that it is not right to open packages etc.. if they(company) persist, it may develop into a culture..<br /><br />And then auntie uncles will know that \"this supermarket cannot open packages to smell one\"..<br /><br />East coast park problem..? I believe, if they really want to eradicate the problem, they can be quite successful.. it's whether they want to or not.<br /><br />Singapore river was not cleaned up in 1 day. but we can see the results after 10 years. If the govt did not take active steps, would you see a clean Singapore river like today? So is supermarket shopping really giving them more freedom or has it limited their freedom? They happen everywhere. Since we are in a supposedly gracious society, we can't deliberately pick a fight with total strangers in public over a packet of chicken or milk. We have our own standards of dignity. Besides, what they are doing is not considered a crime. It's low class, but not a crime.<br /><br /><br />I have seen what the angmohs do when they catch an inconsiderate act at the supermarket... they stare at the person in disbelief for 2 minutes  :shock: and try to get eye contact. That \"OMG, you are so uncouth / bad\" look may just do the trick.
