Supermarket
-
Many years back, I saw pple open up ice cream tubs at the frozen section to check. Then they covered it back and didn’t buy. Gross… they are exposing the ice cream to bacteria.
Since then, I have made it a point to choose brands that are sealed properly. I also noticed that most brands have introduced tamper-proof covers too so the manufacturers know of this problem. -
How come staff allows that to happen?

How comfortable would you be, if you observed such egregious behaviours, to provide feedback to that individual? I think if enough of us stood up for it, it is what makes a difference and creates the 'Singaporean culture.' Its worth speaking up for, don't you think?
I feel that a signboard \"Do not poke/open packages etc..\" and \"area under CCTV surveillance\" is more effective   -

bcoz WE do NOT have the authority/power to prevent/stop it.peapot:

for e.g. you saw someone smoking at non-smoking area. You can tell him off, but you do not have the power to stop him. Reasoning is only effective for reasonable people. -
3Boys:
There is no WE. For me, the case where the \"customer\" opened the grapes bag up and eat one, I wrote a feedback straight to make a feedback to the supermarket.peapot:

Of course, we tell them off, and we keep doing it, all of us. It is our Singaporean values, make a stand for it. -

Wasted opportunity. No point complaining to customer service, tell that customer off straightaway. C'mon, it takes all of us to make a culture, not customer service at NTUC.

Tell customer off? For what? Just don't buy... not like got pay me to tell the customer off and make other people angry. -
Oppsgal:
There you go. Now I know where you stand.

If we don't defend our own culture, because 'no one pay me to make other people angry', then lets just be prepared for other people to walk all over us. The Singaporean culture is truly dying, and it ain't the g'ments fault.
