I need feedback on this CC. Enrolled my daughter with them and she fell very sick within 4 days. I expected her to fall sick but not so soon. I didn’t see the teachers checking the children’s temp. Teachers look really young too. Hope someone can give me good advice; suggessions for a better CC or kindergarten around this area(Sin Ming Ave). Thank you

The incharge Linda in Agape little uni in mid view city is very irresponsible and always Mia. Called up the school to enquire about infant care last Thursday and was told got 3 vacancies and will call me to arrange a viewing on Fri. She called me and we arranged on Friday at 2pm and she asked me to look for her. I reached at 2pm and the staff told me she went out for lunch . Will be back at 3pm. So I went back at 3pm and she still not around. Another teacher brought me around the infant care. 


I went back to consider and decided to enrol my bb to the agape and cancel another school. On Monday , I called to talk to her but again she was not around. I left my contact and name but this time never call back. I called again today she was hold on the line for quite a while then the teacher got back to me and said again she not around . Plus TOLD ME NO MORE VACANCY IN THE INFANT CARE. SHE SAID LINDA HAS OVERLOOKED . I told the staff I have confirmed two times with her and one time with the infant care in charge and was told there are slots. I rejected another side and now u told me no slots and just a sorry.. we have overlooked. Plus the teacher just told me I just get the info from the top.. nothing to do with me. 

I felt that the school management has very bad attitude and very irresponsible .

I am glad I didn't enrol my boy inside. I can imagine anything happen.. the in charge will MIA or maybe she don't even know anything inside the school.
You have made the RIGHT Choice! The teachers there basically DO NOT communicate. Massages passed down was never received by the teacher-in-charge...is terrible! I used to have 2 kids there and I transferred the elder one to another childcare. Due to no vacancy to the childcare, I could not transfer my younger one as well. Only in end of November, i managed to get out from that terrible place, agape @ Midview City. I thought everything was over, but I was wrong. Having out from that centre for 1 month, guess what, Agape has not transfer my kid's name out from the centre, hence the new childcare could not register my kid and do all the necessary administration work. Immediately went over to the look for the principal but she was not around (it was a Saturday). Spoke to the teacher that was around and get her to call the principal and was told that she is not in-charge of this, she will call Linda. I told her to get Linda to call me personally and immediately (though is a xmas eve, I dun give a damn). In the end, it was the teacher whom I spoke to earlier that called me to apology, saying that Linda has overlook it and she will do it immediately to remove my kid's name from the center.
On the last day of childcare, I was told that the refund of my deposit will take 1 month and the center will give me a call once is ready. More than a month has passed, still no news. So i called in to check awhile ago. this Miss Chua or Mrs Chua asked for my kid's name and then said the cheque is ready can come collect. I got pissed off again this time. I told her, is already ready and no one even bother to call me to collect, this is terrible. She tried to fence herself by saying oh, is just ready and we are about to call parents to come collect.
Anyway, my point here is not the deposit. The point is, this is not a place for kids to go. Parents do think twice before you put your kids there. Look at how they handle issues and matters. Is really shaking head. There are other better centers out there, try harder and you will find.
Note: I did not mention anything about curriculum (also shake head).

My girl is in agape i thought paying more would be good but i m so wrong…she fell sick twice running high fever…i m up this time cos she is running 39 degrees since in school but no one tell me. Like one mum mention they dun even do regular check on kids.

What is worse is that they tried to deduct extra money from our cda account and pretended they did not…we are dumb to out my girl there after 3 day trail seeing they use toliet paper to clean my girl mouth…but we can still read basic accountd numbers.

I hope my post can save other child from suffering the same fate…fever is no joke. My girl is hanging by the line.

Any further feedback on Agape @ Midview City? I am thinking of switching my boy from another centre to the PG next month. Would appreciate if parents of current kids in PG can share your experiences with the teachers. Didn't get to see the English teacher in action and only saw the Chinese teacher having music and movement classes with them when I visited.

As this is a transfer for my boy, I'd really hope I've made the right choice and won't be transferring again anytime soon. Areas I am particular about include both teachers' care and patience towards the children, speaks good English/Chinese, are open in their communications with parents, and also try to stick to the curriculum as much as possible so that activities are varied for the kids.



I did check out CherieHearts Nurtureloft but felt that the open concept may be a little distracting. I also wasn't able to get a good feel of the curriculum as the principal didn't explain much detail. Any info parents here can share? Thanks sooo much!
I don't know about mid view city but my boy is enrolled in another centre. When I gave feedback the school, the principal and directors were not receptive. Infact we were told to go find another school. A school that is not receptive and not open to feedback how good can they be.

The school in kallang is quite old and dirty, and the one at Cecil n cck has high turnover of teachers.

I thinking of putting my child at child care begining next year. So I am still looking around. My friends’ centres only put notice at the entrance of the centres to notify parents about HFMD. HFMD can spread very fast cos got incubation period. Cannot blame the centres only. Some of my friends centres got to close for 10 days. One of them said their centres got 20 cases. Those that got to close have their children at PG and they said their centres’ HFMD started from PG or infants. I heard if got 16 cases or more they have to close for 10 days. You mean Sunny Bunny used to inform parents about HFMD by sms? Do they put notice at the centre for parents to see? My friends’ centres don’t send anything by sms. The incharge of Sunny Bunny told me they have never been closed for HFMD. Most centre I asked wipe their mattresses only. I forgot to ask about the cleaning of cots when I visited Sunny Bunny. I saw them washing cots so I just wonder is it bcos of HFMD or it’s their regular practice to wash the cots? I did ask the cleaners, they said they wipe everyday and wash and the cots every 4 weeks and not bcos they have HFMD now. Don’t know true or not?

Yes my youngest erolled for only 2 weeks n got HFMD. Last year the supervisor will inform parents by SMS if the centre got any cases so the HFMD rate abt 1 or 2 BUT this year they nv ( until very last stage ten they start inform )so both my kids got it n the rate is about 13 cases ( during the period my child got it ) if I nv remember wrongly.

Besides Agape, there are so many child care centres there. All of them are so new but pity the children, have to stay in the aircon for 12 hrs! I think it’s not healthy for the children. I don’t think I want to put my children in full aircon somemore no outdoor. All of them don’t have outdoor play area.I stay in office 8 hrs already cannot stand and always fall sick. So I decided to walk to nearby Sunny Bunny to take a look. They are quite old but very clean. Teachers also very friendly. The cook speaks good English and the cleaner from China speaks perfect Chinese. What I like best is they don’t use aircon the whole day. The playground is just outside the centre. The in charge told me they are going to renovate soon. Hope they still continue the current open air concept after their renovation. In fact I don’t mind their current conditions. I am more particular of the programme, teachers and the envirnment in and out. When I was there I saw the older children doing puppet show of Little Red Hen and the younger ones watching. The children looked very happy and disciplined. I saw many cartons of new puppets in the office. The office is so messy with all the cartons around. The in charge told me they have altogether 200 over puppets imported from US which they are going to use them to run Puppetry Literacy programme. I didn’t get to meet the supervisor. Understand she is on leave in US and be back next Monday. Managed to talk to 2 parents who were picking up their children. The parents are all smiling when I asked them for opinion and one of them the girl was with Sunny Bunny since infant and now in K2. I think Sunny Bunny is top of my list for now. I will go and take a look again at the end of November after their renovation before making my final decision. They are offering a $100 monthly discount till the end of this year so I must enroll before end of the year if I decide to put my children there.

Is your child in any centre now? I am staying at bishan, looking out for a childcare centre for my child in this area.

Went to visit a few childcare centres recently.
High noise level at those centres with open concept, so i am afraid tt my child cant conc during lesson time.

Do you know what is the difference between those pcf run centres, like sparkletots and my first skool vs Sunny Bunny, Agape?
But why are you choosing Agape?

As a parent, I rarely pay attention to my CDA statements most of the time. Maybe this is why it makes it easier for the principal to transfer money illegally from the accounts.

i would like to feedback our recent experience with Agape Little uni @Central (located at Midview city). Our 3 year old son was first enrolled to this new childcare center 6 months ago (from last Sept 2011 until Feb 2012). We’ve been making mthly cash payment for school fees of $580/- from Sept 11 - Feb 12 upon registration with the school but we proceed to submit GIRO application in Dec 2011.
We’ve not been informed if the GIRO application has been approved despite our repeated phonecall to the school center and my wife’s last phone call to the center is dated 31 Jan 2012 and Ms Shanti, school principal, informed us it is not approved yet. So we continue to make cash payment until Feb 2012.

However, last Sat 18/2, i checked my child’s January 2012 CDA account statement and discovered an incorrect S$2140 withdrawal transactions (namely 17 Jan- $1160 and 31st Jan- $980) from CDA account - monthly sch fees deduction should be S580/nett . i was very angry and we confronted the school directors that same Sat 18/2 and they admitted to us there is apparent issue with ex-principal Ms. Shanti’s management of their school finances and the school management has already asked her to leave and her last working day with Agape little uni is dated 10 Feb 2012.
Though we’ve received refunded amount of S$2140/- from the school director after we confronted the school management but we’ve informed the school of our decision to withdraw our son, Ryan from the school.

It is with the same belief that every child has a right to a respectful environment and to undergo the tedious process of starting in another new childcare environment soon. At the same time, we’re also unsure if our child is benefiting from Agape little uni ‘s school syllabus.

Our queries/issues with the school on 18/2 Sat meeting are as follows:
1) Why are there 2 GIRO deductions made to our child’s CDA account on Jan 2011 statement even though we’ve already made cash payment of monthly fee of $580/- until month of Feb 2012?

2) Why we as parents are not being informed about the GIRO approval by the school despite our repeated phone call check with the school principal Ms. Shanti and the last phone call made for GIRO approval checks by my wife to the school is dated 31 Jan 2012 and the ex-principal Ms. Shanti confirms this during our 18-Feb 2012 Sat discussion. Also prior to meeting in the school on 18 Feb afternoon, I called up OCBC Bank @noon time to confirm the GIRO approval will only be sent to the school only, not to the parent/child of CDA account and I was very angry about this whole thing and requested to CANCEL the GIRO application for school fees with immediate effect.

3) These 2 GIRO withdrawals made does not look like a ‘mistake’ as from below analysis these seems to be some suspected form of ‘cheating’ or plot to embezzle school fees from parents by the school principal. If this is by anyway of any mistake, then the correct amount of $580/ nett should be deducted instead. (1st GIRO withdrawal-> $1160 could be $580 x2mth= $1160 and $980 -> initial deposit)

4) Why didn’t the school management contact us earlier about the incorrect GIRO deduction and we, as parent, need to flag out the error and be proactive in confronting/reporting this GIRO deduction issue to the school to get a REFUND? Question here is: What if we did not challenge the GIRO deduction and the school’s negligence over this matter. So will this be seen by the school as ‘normal’? Does the school not have a correct procedure or book keeping for managing the center operation?

Lastly, the assigned school principal should focus on school curriculum, teacher’s lesson delivery and child’s growth development rather than managing school fees, finance related. The school director or authorized personnel should assume this responsibility from our view.

i hope anyone reading our recent experience will draw useful lesson from it.

** Note: i may proceed to make police report or to report this case to MCYS for the accounting/withdrawal discrepancies to our child’s CDA account and seek further investigation/explanation from the related ministry.
