Your son is very descriptive! But it looks like he needs to go back to basics. Get him to first think 1 thing at a time:

1. John chased someone (a man?)
2. An old man accompanied John in his chase.
3. The man being chased was with an old woman?

Then see if he can join 2 out of the 3 sentences. At P2, try not to go beyond 1 comma.
