Yesterday as I was washing my DB (12 yr old) hair, I found a strain of white shiny hair behind his head. I thought I was colour blind! but with a closer look, yes it was a strain of white hair.

I was rather shock, a boy at his age should not have any of this.
Any advice? does this sound weird? should I send him to a doc? i might seem like a over-concern mummy. Any cure?Please help. :yikes:

PS: In case you are wondering why I am still bathing my 12yr old DB, as this is the only time & the reason is that he had too much dandruff and i can't stand it!!! :stompfeet: This is how I found out he had white hair!! :yikes:

so actually there is no white hair, just dandruff

It is no uncommon. My gal who is 2 has a strand before as well. Unless it is persistent and getting more. Otherwise, no cause for concern. Relax.

My boy in P5 has 2 or 3 strands at times, not really visible. It's not as if it is spreading or he's dropping hair. It should be fine? :rahrah:

my ds has this problem of white hair since 2 yrs ago. now i see white and golden ones that i resort to cutting them, i dun pluck. this issue keeps popping on mymind coz i feel depress to see such happening to a little kid. so what happens if they keep growing?become a young old man?! so i decided to bring him to see doc. doc said nothing can be done if its genetic. mu hub has white hair at 10. my ds is now 7 doc only gives milti vit which i have let my ds takes. i feel that as a parent, i am not doing to help my child. feel very helpless.


anyone has solution? any hair remedy or product to recommend. i want to help my ds b4 its too late.

Don't worry...I think the doc gives sound advice to you..Multi Vit does help. I do not believe in hair remedy or other products till it is proven.

is it possible to bring my nephew to yum nam or beijing 101? he has the same problem also.
If it keeps growing then I believe you should see a consultant.

Same here. Found 1 strand on DD (P4) ~ 2-3 months after she transferred school. Think that time she was rather stressed. I plucked it out Now that she is coping already, no more white hair detected.

Similarly, I had 1 strand when I was really stressed up a few years ago....after that, no more....but I'm prepared for it since already in 40s.

When DD was young, her hair was very sparse too.....but it has just gotten thicker and darker as she grows tho I did nothing. Guess to some extent, genes will play a part.
