However, from an insider info, Miss Universe is not based on looks only. When Singapore hosted Ms Universe years ago, the hot favourite did not win cos she had a fight or something with a fellow contestant before the finals. Our own contestant was not highly rated for her looks but she scored points cos she was very friendly and helpful to the other contestants during their stay here. Judging was not only made on stage but also during the time when contestants interacted with each other and other personnel like makeup artists and even the judges. Yes, the judges also looked out for those contestants who touch their little companions in some ways which show off their tenderness and loving nature. It seems that most of the contestants who did just that were those who got into the top positions.

If candidates can pass barest minimal requirements, only then let candidates go out to represent respective country. Beauty peagant organizers should ensure that contestants should meet minimum mark expected, before send them out. Otherwise end up make a laughing stock of herself, & a mockery out of the country she represent.

the selection of the right candidate is very important.
if can't find any true blue bred born SG citizen amongest contestants - i rather our country send in NO rep.
