<![CDATA[Tots House vs PCF???]]>Hi everyone,


I need advise urgently. My son when to Tots House this 3 days n I realise the teachers there lack of patience. Dey left d children to play d toys for half an hr after tt keep d toys, do some coloring after that play toys again for abt 30mins den wash hands hv some snacks after tt singing with no music on. N tt a day for the 1st day of school.

3rd day of school, the teacher very roughly pull my son out after class as we r waiting for him outside n a black face look. This type of situation is making me no more heart to continue with them.

I decided to enroll my son to PCF N1 as he will b turnin 3yrs old in Sept 2012. Anyone can give me so comments on whether go continue or enroll him to PCF as I blive those ppl hv experience at PCF can guide me. Thanks alot!!!

So need to recce the one near ur place. My son has graduated from pcf & my girl is now in K1. The transition from K2 to P1 was quite smooth (touchwood). Hypy is not encouraged at pre sch bcos children may confuse with phonics. So focus on Chinese word recognition 1st b4 they learn hypy in P1

Elder one p1 and younger one k1. I find that the teachers are caring and most are very experienced, having taught at the same centre for years, especially the Chinese teachers. However the curriculum may not be as comprehensive as private operators. Eg they do not teach hanyu pinyin. I sent my kids to PCF becuase of convenience as it’s near my place. I do supplement with own teaching and I believe that my elder one is adapting well to primary school. My own conclusion is that PCF is ok if you are prepared to do additional teaching at home or send for some enrichment. Nevertheless this is based on my own experience and may not apply to all centers.

right now, ds2 is only 3.5, and he has not been long in his current sch to see visible result.
if any kind soul would be able to give comments good or bad about PCF, will be thankful.

Dun understand... I didn't say anything bad abt PCF so why keep your boy in the expensive school leh? Go to PCF if you are ok with the idea. If not, just take him to a middle tier school at bishan. So many around that area.

If the montessori school is really good, just bite the bullet and pay. You must convince yourself that it is worth it then you won't lament the high $$$.

My personal thots about PCF are very personal and nothing to do with their teachers or curriculum. Anyway, every branch is different.

PCF is good for preparing kids for primary school I guess. They may have improved over the years.

If childcare i still prefer Learning Vision.


Therefore PCF is only choice for me. We do oso go to PCF while we r young cos ONLY choice.

Can share with me thru PM why PCF not good? As i feel the teacher der more lively n friendly.

I would suggest you to just go to a mid-tier private childcare/ preschool. Personally, I won't send to PCF if can afford it (reasons cannot say :siam: ).
