I tried claypot chicken rice, KL Wanton Mee, 面煎kueh… The claypot chicken rice has some nice charred bits but lacks fragrance and seems over-priced at $7. The KL Wanton Mee is awful - 3 tiny wantons and one piece of char siew, no vege even, for $4. I want to forget I ever ate it. 面煎kueh is a bit different from S’pore’s (skin is hard, got gula melaka drizzled over peanuts) but it’s not nice. The Food Street is cheap only coz there’s no service charge nor GST. Got pretty crowded around lunchtime though. Next time I would rather eat at Ruyi on the same budget…or pay more for Coca Steamboat lunch buffet ($24++)…</p>
